My experience at First Honda/Kia of Simi Valley by the reviews on Facebook, Google and Yelp does not appear to be an isolated incident, rather a pervasive pattern in lack of customer service doled out by the First Family of Dealerships!!The Gen. Sales Manager JOHN VECA is by far the worse Customer experience I have EVER encountered with a Manager!! He was not only lacking in the basic 101's of Customer Service to always Treat each & every customer w/Dignity & Respect, but also in Professionalism be-fitting upper Management! During my appointment to look at purchasing a 2017 Honda CRV EXL on 10/10/2019 he was condescending, dis-respectful and un-professional in his tone and demeanor! This was my second time coming to inquire about this vehicle the first time I went to KIA and didn't feel comfortable buying a used car from anywhere other than the Brand dealership. The initial salesman that I spoke with on the phone Adrian and Sales Manager who's name I can't recall, were extremely polite & professional. When I spoke to Adrian I decided that I would give him a little of my history over the phone to eliminate the usual BANTER of the CLOSER intimidation to BUY that happens at a lot of Car Dealerships, which is so yester-year!!! While I do understand every dealership is different, I do understand a little about the Car Industry given my ex-husband worked over 20 years in management for Lexus. The GM JOHN VECA during our encounter even commented & I quote "My wife works in the Legal field and I don't propose to know Law" what the heck, who talks that way to a Customer??? He also constantly questioned my OFFER Price and how I derived at such an amount, WHAT, I don't have to explain anything to you, I'm the Customer!! Does Honda endorse this type of behavior all in the name of meeting the bottom line, I sure HOPE not?? I will make HONDA CORP. aware in a detailed letter of my experience, to the President of Customer Relations. John Veca, didn't even feel I deserved the RESPECT as a longtime Honda Customer of having owned 3, to at least COUNTER my offer with a BEST Price. The reason he continuously stated was because of the difference in my OFFER and the list price, saying no one typically OFFERS almost 35% actually more like 25% off list price, I find that very HARD to believe!!! I was in disbelief that this was actually happening as I had every intention of BUYING this CAR, at a FAIR price, and like all things in business it's a process between what I think I want to pay and the BEST price!! Don't ASSUME you know what anyone WILL or WON'T Pay....very UP-Setting!! The looks and tone during our conversation was so frustrating at one point I felt like perhaps there was some PROFILING happening due to the un-believable way this was going, I felt like I was being interrogated!! What a way to create Customer Loyalty, and Trust in your Product & Dealership! I simply couldn't believe I had DROVE so FAR w/the Santa Ana's winds w/my car blowing back & forth for this Craziness!! You could have made a SALE yesterday!! I will SEE how long it takes for you to SELL a 2017 HONDA CRV-EX L with 23,000 miles @$26,900 w/tax & license approximately $29,000 (which by the way is "ABOVE MARKET on TruCar with the average price on same veh. approx. $18,999 on the low end & $24,000 at the MID). This is the 4th QUARTER 2019's are CLEARING out to make way for 2020's, I THINK I do know that...however John even questioned that "Saying SUV's don't come out that soon", WHAT??? He kept reiterating "How I came to my Offer Price" which again WHY...WAIT, am I buying a CAR from YOU or YOU from ME??? I have the RIGHT to make an OFFER you shouldn't be Upset because you think it's too LOW, Counter, that's the Professional thing to do!! if you're serious about your BOTTOM Line give me the common decency of telling me your PRICE, WHAT THE HECK is the BIG SECRET!!
