Beyond Excellent We live 159 miles from the dealership and we would buy a used car from them again! Our situation was very complicated. We were helping our son, w We live 159 miles from the dealership and we would buy a used car from them again! Our situation was very complicated. We were helping our son, who is an active duty service member living out of state, locate and purchase a vehicle. Our search had been going on for several weeks and we experienced standard customer service up to this point. On one trip to check out a car we drove 4 hours (one way) only to discover the car we wanted was advertised incorrectly. An entire day wasted to see a car we didn't even want to buy. So, this time we made sure we asked more questions and requested several pieces of information via email from Lindsey at Thomas Honda and she provided everything and more. We decided to drive the 159 miles to check out the car and although Lindsey had an emergency to deal with at home, she left us in Ben's capable hands. After initially "kicking the tires" we called our son and told him it passed our inspection. Then things got really interesting, as we were not only co-signing the loan but we also needed power of attorney to sign for our son, Ben and the staff at Thomas were very patient as we worked through over 3 hours of phone calls and paperwork. The deal was done, but since we wanted remote start installed we couldn't take the car yet. At the end of the week my husband drove back with a car trailer to pick up the vehicle but upon arriving saw the hatch latch was torn apart. The service department was looking the car over one final time and noticed the latch on the hatch was not working properly. They took my husband to lunch while they worked on the problem, but after lunch the latch still wasn't working. Since my husband rented a car trailor, he intended on bringing the car home no matter what was wrong and agreed to have Thomas ship us a new latch that he could replace himself. When the part arrived at our house he switched out the part, but it still didn't work. At this point we were thinking "Just great, now we will have to drive the car back to have it fixed." But, when my husband told Ben about the problem, Ben said, "Well this isn't acceptable. We will send a driver out to your house, swap vehicles and bring your car back to make it right. Then once it is fixed we will drive it back to you and swap cars again." We said "WOW!" Now that is exceptional customer service! We now owned the vehicle and they could've just said too bad, but they went the extra 159 miles and made it right. They treated us like valuable customers they had known for years and I expect the next time we buy a used care we will be checking out what they have to offer. More
