What Others Say
In my 40+ years of buying cars for myself and my family, this was the BEST car buying experience ever. Jordan, the sales rep, was a straight-shooter. Not only was he honest, he didn't play games, and he treated me with respect. He answered every question with a smile and took me seriously ... no matter how many times I asked or how many questions I asked. The finance guy, Eli, explained everything well and had the entire process stream-lined so it didn't take forever. Michael, the manager, came into the office, sat down and visited, and explained his philosophy of great customer service - which he lives and inspires his team to carry you. I felt seen, heard, and appreciated. Capital Nissan has a great team and great products!
I recently bought a used 2022 Nissan Maxima Platinum ($32K) from Capital Nissan in Wilmington. After buying 7 Nissans, at 3 different dealerships, this was the worst Nissan dealer I have ever dealt with. The car was allegedly serviced, yet the washer fluid was empty, the cabin filter was filthy, and the tire pressure was inconsistent (high in one tire, low in others). Plus, the car was never detailed, and the gas tank was nearly empty (after complaining, they put ½ tank of gas in it). The dealer adds a $200 “nitrogen” tire fill and a $600 “ceramic” job (it already washed off) to every car. The “finance manager” tried to sell us a “Triton Warranty” (whatever that is) but neglected to offer the Nissan Security + plan, which I would have bought. They also wanted an additional $1,000 to make the car “CPO” (certified pre-owned). They were, however, nice enough to put a filthy, corroded license plate frame on the rear of the car (which I promptly removed and discarded, along with their advertising sticker).
The bigger problem was all the paperwork was backdated, to the date I made a deposit (not the date I actually purchased the car), and was full of errors. When I questioned this, I was ghosted by the “product specialist” (now “internet manager”), general sales manager”, “finance manager” (now “sales consultant”) and even the “owner loyalty manager” (I’m not sure what her real job might be). They continued to ignore me even as my temporary tag expired. When the tag expired, I was unable to drive my newly purchased car for over a week. It appears they stalled everything so that my cash payment could pay off the lien on the car I just bought! Either that, or they are just totally incompetent.
Trust me, if you say anything they don't want to hear, they will ghost you as if you bought your car in the Soviet Union.
Avoid this dealership unless you like to be lied to and treated like a complete idiot. There are too many other Nissan dealerships that truly care about their customers. I can only attribute all the “glowing” 5 star reviews to coercion or there are just a lot of uninformed people out there.
If it wasn’t for the receptionist at the dealership and the title processor at Capital Auto Group Corporate, I’m sure I’d still be walking!
Noah Woods, feel free to comment. Please do contact me and explain/justify the horrible way I was treated.
I received a text for 1.9 % interest or 275.00 lease did not have either available highly misleading do not waste your time I have been a Nissan customer for my past 5 vehicles at this dealership and it’s time to move on .
Free oil change for life is not free! Yes, there are other maintenance items that need to be completed at certain milage intervals with additional cost however; trying to charge my young daughter $500 for items other than the oil change that I scheduled is a bit ridiculous. I have a copy of the contract that I signed and nowhere on there does it say at 60k there will be a $500 charge with your free oil change. I will not be purchasing any vehicles from this dealership in the future nor will I recommend them. I wish there was a way to upload my contract to one could see the discrepancy.
Over the pass years I have purchased 6 vehicles from Capital Nissan involving 3 different models. I have nothing but the highest praise for the professionalism and courtesy shown me in each and every time I've done business with them. What really impresses me is the appreciation they show for your business. Each and every time the crew and management bent over backwards to insure I was satisfied with the vehicle I select. There is a reason I've bought 6 vehicles from Capital Nissan and they know how to keep you coming back. Kudos to Capital Nissan, doing it right!
I am fleet manager for Phoenix Spirit Group in Wilmington NC and we have 70 plus Nissan in our fleet. I have to deal with numerous Nissan dealerships across NC and SC and Capital Nissan in Wilmington is by far the best and easiest to deal with. The service provider I deal with most of the time is Chelsea and she does an outstanding job of keeping me informed about the cost and time on all of our repairs. This makes my job so muck easier and it is greatly appreciated by everyone where I work. Thanks again Chelsea.
