Everyone we dealt with was incredible. Not a fan of car dealers, but you guys were very different.
We had mixed feelings about our experience. Before we got into the vehicle, we were specifically told how clean it was. When we got in, it was not clean—not gross by any means, but there was trash and leaves/debris throughout the vehicle. When we came back, we were told that the vehicle we were trading in had begun smoking whenever they took it for a drive. This was incredibly surprising to us, as this was not something we had experienced before. We were definitely trading the car in for a reason, but had never experienced that issue or anything similar. The way the message was delivered implied that we were maybe trying to hide or be dishonest about the cars condition, which was not at all the case. Eventually, we all came to the conclusion that the vehicle was being driven with the parking brake on, which was engaged by Dean Team staff, not us. We were told that the experience did not impact the quote we were given for the trade in, but the experience was disheartening. When we came back, we were immediately prompted to begin filling out paperwork without being asked if we wanted to continue with the process. No one was rude or pushy, but we were not explicitly given the opportunity to openly communicate with or ask questions of the salesman regarding the vehicle. We were also told several times that the vehicle would be filled up with gas prior to our leaving. This was not really something that we expected and were pleasantly surprised by the promise. However, when we got in the van to leave, the gas tank was less than 1/4 full. Additionally, our down payment was not collected prior to departure. We did not realize this until we were already at home. Not a huge deal, but also doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in the dealership as a whole. All of these things together make our experience less than ideal, though we were happy with the price point and the overall kindness of the staff we encountered.
