What Others Say
Dealing with Valley Honda has been one of the worst experiences I have had when buying a vehicle. I bought a 2020 Honda pilot a little over a year ago (so a 3 year old suv) with under 30k miles on it at the time. Not a brand new vehicle but certainly should be in excellent condition and should not have major problems. Unbeknownst to me the vehicle had “known Honda” issues with the sound system that became glaringly evident to me within 2 days of owning the vehicle. As a honda dealer and very widespread known problem you would think they would have recognized, known and fixed the issue before putting it on their lot. Instead they down played it to get past the 72 hours I had to return as a new buyer and let me be the one to incur the frustration and time of dealing with the issues. I learned, after countless trips to repair, mass amounts of time to their service department to fix, and research on my own of how widespread of an issue it was on my own. To make matters worse their sales team upsold me on a supposed bumper to bumper warranty (per their sales associate I would have nothing to worry about minus normal wear for the next 6 years) until of course I actually tried to use the warranty. I had the joy of water pouring in at my drivers side feet during a rain storm. I once again call their service department who instead of having me bring it in to look at the vehicle says “Here is a number of a 3rd party we don’t really do water issues if he won’t honor your warranty call us back and we will get you in.” I had the pleasure of calling the 3rd party who was astonished that I was given his cellphone number because he doesn’t directly deal with customers. He is an outsourced resource once a vehicle has been brought into the dealership. He had me take the vehicle to a different ,more reputable, Honda dealer in the area to be looked at, analyzed and subsequently fixed. To my surprise I was told the repair was going to cost me upwards of $500 to fix and wasn’t covered under my bumper to bumper warranty. I immediately called Valley honda, before I paid a dime, since it was their sales team who told me bumper to bumper with zero stipulations. After their service and sales manager both sang me shaggy’s it wasn’t me I was informed the only person who could potentially do anything was the dealership gm. He called me back a few hours later and after catching him up on the immense amount of issues from the door and the current mess ups left and right starting with the initial call to his service department his response …we definitely dropped the ball and things will need to be changed but there is nothing I am able to do…this is one of a handful of whoopses that happen throughout the year. Unfortunately, the only thing I can offer is for you to bring it back in and we will give you a great trade in. After all the deception, terrible quality, and atrocious customer service (and lack there of at times) let me head right on over and buy my next vehicle from you.🙄 Absolute joke. Buyer beware Valley Honda just wants the sale. Truth and customer service are optional as long as their pockets get padded.
Valley Honda is a great dealership, but I specifically want to highlight Jeff Katchen, their Floor Manager, in this review. I purchased a pre-owned Ridgeline from Jeff and the experience could not have been better from a customer perspective. I oftentimes find when purchasing a vehicle that I know more about the particular model than the salesperson just from doing a little research on my own beforehand. That was not the case at all with Jeff. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the vehicle, but he took the time to explain every feature and what the vehicle would be like to live with. He even went back inside in the rain to grab a tape measure so I could make sure our car seat would fit in the back. The purchase process was smooth, reasonable, and very low pressure. A few months later, I had a small problem with the vehicle and gave Jeff a call to see if he could help. Jeff immediately got the proper parties involved to help with what was an atypical situation that my local dealer would not touch. A lot of sales professionals would never put that kind of selfless time in for a customer once the sale is made. I live about an hour away from the dealership, but because of this experience, when our family is in the market for a new vehicle, the first place I am going to look is Valley Honda. Thanks Jeff for all that you do for your customers!
Had no bad experience till today. At first had a good experience till toward the end, when dealer Michael and Kelsey came and talk to me. Planned to trade in my old CRV and get another new one. Not sure if it’s because of me being Asian, Dealer came and asked me for my “working visa and citizenship” (was confused at first) when clearly my driver license (real ID) already proved it. When I left the dealer (never purchasing from Valley Honda not giving them any business). Kelsey came out and talk to me about a red flag that popped up with my SSN (they put an incorrect SSN) instead of assuming people aren’t citizens, first ask if they have wrote the number wrong.
They are listing sold cars and forcing us to buy other cars that are available in their showroom. Sales person did show any interest or courtesy to me when i called him at 11 to ensure car of my choice availability, he asked me visit but when I went there he simply told that the car was sold. sales man tactics or he might have already reached his goal for the year. Very lethargic.
After over 20 years of buying fords I am now a Honda owner. My new Pilot is great and Jeff explained everything to me. Michael the manager was very thorough going over the specifics and helped educate me. The covid-19 protocol was very warming as everyone had masks on and it seemed other people were very comfortable as well. I will be back in 3 years for my next Honda.
My family recently purchased a new Honda Pilot. Jeff showed us new and used models and when we saw the black wheels on one of them we were sold. After going through all the normal processes at a car dealership, we were finished and driving away in under 2 hours. Andrea explained all of the numbers in and information about the pilot on a pretty great computerized touch screen. Jeff then sat in the vehicle with us and explained everything before we left. My sister just went there and bought a used civic and she is also thrilled.
