I normally don't leave review, but I feel this needs to be shared. I recently brought in my brand new 2025 vehicle for service at Smith Honda, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The technician made a clear mistake by making a cut for the roof rails he was installing in the wrong part of my car. Instead of being up front about it, they initially tried to hide the damage with electrical tape - on a brand new vehicle. I was shocked to discover they were prepared to send me home with it in that condition, without saying a word. They did fix it once i brought it up to them, but that included another trip back to the dealer for 4 hours. I get mistakes happen, but you would think a dealer would let you know and have a plan to fix it. Putting electrical tape over the mistake and hoping the customer doesn't see it is unbelievable!
I purchased a Honda pilot the sales guy was absolutely very set on getting my wife and I the bigger vehicle we were looking for, and the staff there did it, thank you for helping us with our need.
We have had Honda Pilots for years and needed another car. We had debated whether to get another Pilot or to get a CRV. We live in Bozeman but were traveling through Idaho Falls and on a whim decided to check out the Smith Honda dealership to see if they had any CRVs to test drive. To make a long story short, we left that day with a very low mileage Pilot Elite. Our last buying experience (at another dealership) had been so dreadful that I actually had hated the idea of buying another car. In the past few months we had been to dealerships in both Montana and Utah but were disappointed in the selections and, in the case of the Orem, Utah one, we were so disgusted with the sales person that we just walked off the lot. In Idaho Falls we were fortunate to have been helped by Brandon and we very much enjoyed the whole experience. He listened closely to what we wanted and made several thoughtful suggestions. We test drove three cars (CRV, Passport and Pilot) and he was patient and knowledgeable - not to mention, a lot of fun! Then came the next hurdle - the dreaded price negotiation and financial arrangements. This is when we found that the entire staff at Smith Honda has been well trained and that the dealership has a culture of friendliness and service. Mike was wonderful and clear! He even advised us about some credit building things we could do that were very helpful. The car had just come in so had not been serviced and detailed yet. Knowing that it was last minute, and they were busy, we offered to buy the car then pick up the car in a few weeks when we would be traveling back through IF. It was the manager who declared that we shouldn't need to wait, then arranged with the service department to have the work done immediately so we could pick it up that afternoon. Their service department was busy so I know that this was a challenge for them. That evening after we got back to Bozeman my husband had a question about the car and texted Branden after hours. Branden got back to him immediately with a solution. To summarize, the Smith Honda Dealership in Idaho Falls is a wonderful place to do business with. They are well trained, thoughtful of their customers and very pleasant to work with. Since we love Hondas we will be traveling to IF from Bozeman any time we need to buy a car. I highly recommend this dealership!
Shop was short a mechanic and they thought it would take longer for repair but they worked around their problem and completed the repair ahead of schedule. As a result they kept a very satisfied future client and ensured a future purchase.
Wonderful experience in the service department. Jay and Gary were timely and extremely helpful when our tow package lost power. They quickly checked the fuses and found the blown fuse. We were out the door in no time and on our way back to Virginia.
Smith Honda is THE place! I was so pleased with the help I received in the Service Department from Jason Ellars. He was knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. He kept me informed on what needed to be done and asked me first, before they did certain things. I especially appreciated that I didn't have to have an appointment and received prompt attention. The Service Department was very clean, organized and professional. I will always go the Smith Honda in Idaho Falls for all my servicing needs on my Honda Pilot. Thank you!
