What Others Say
I had an excellent experience working with sales representative Sergio Montiel and Finance Manager Duane Price. They were extremely helpful, hospitable, informative, and respectful, and genuinely took their time throughout the entire process. Both made the vehicle purchasing experience smooth and stress-free. They truly listened to what I wanted and made sure everything stayed within my comfort level. Overall, a job very well done by both of them.
Always an upsell by service attempted. We went to another dealer even though they are 2.5 miles away to purchase our Toyota Camay Poor reputation for the last 40 years.
We bought a brand new 2025 Toyota Highlander at Toyota on Edens, and it’s already been in the shop twice — with less than 1,000 miles on it.
The first issue happened while we were driving on the highway. The engine suddenly went into limp mode, which was extremely dangerous. The dealership found that the crankshaft sensor bracket was cracked and not installed properly — they admitted it was a manufacturer defect. That alone was alarming, but we tried to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt.
Not long after that repair, we started hearing grinding noises. We brought it back, and now they’ve removed the entire engine and transmission. They keep calling it a “minor issue,” but there’s nothing minor about taking apart the entire powertrain on a vehicle this new. It raises serious concerns about long-term reliability.
Then came the most shocking part: they found a loose washer trapped between the engine block and the transmission. It's hard to believe this was missed at the factory. Based on photos and the service report, it looks more like it happened during our first service visit when the crankshaft sensor was replaced. That kind of mistake could have caused major damage — and long-term issues we won’t even know about yet.
To make matters worse, the service experience has been awful. Nobody returns your calls. Everyone tells you something different, and no one wants to take responsibility. The service manager shrugged it off with, “You have a warranty.” That’s not acceptable after spending nearly $50,000 on a brand new vehicle. We didn’t pay that kind of money to deal with engine teardowns and poor communication.
And then there’s the GM. dismissive, and uninterested. When I finally went in person to get answers, I got the clear impression that he simply didn’t care. His attitude was, “Don’t tell me what you expect — we’ll do what we want.
Very disappointed
This is not a business you will go more than once. That is how bad the customer service is.
Awful experience..we were literally going to buy a car from them the next day in cash and because of high pressure sales tactics to try and not let us leave without “sealing” the deal we walked out..we actually planned to buy two cars a new one and a used one..our sales guy was fine but it was the managers who ruined the sales for us..I heard from other people they had similar ..the dealership should keep in mind to treat customers the way they want to be treated..the slick high pressure tactics should be left to timeshares..not higher end car sales..
Horrific sales experience. Maria claimed floor mats not included with new car, then tried to extort a good online review in exchange for floor mats, then took 3 separate tries to actually order correct mats that actually fit the car. Once she realized this would take more than one try, she actually asked “can you just live without them?!” We were shocked. No, we bought a new car. We expect the floor mats and decent service.
Later she told us to come by for free car washes because the new car wash was open, but when I arrived Rick claimed it was "too cold" and when reminded it was 45 degrees, mansplained they were just "too busy." Look it up - 3 pm on January 25, 2025 it was 46 degrees in Northbrook, Illinois. The car wash where I later took it had a line around the corner.
Every time I gave Toyota on Edens a chance to provide decent service, they biffed it completely. These wasted my time, they are disrespectful and dishonest. Once you buy the car, you're dead to them. I will not return. If you like spending many tens of thousands to be treated like a piece of trash or a worm, you will love Toyota on Edens!!!
Oh, and hey guys! Thanks for removing my review. I can understand why you don’t like what I have to say, so i’ll be posting it absolutely everywhere. And when you flag it, I’ll repost it. Every time. You successfully treated me like dirt when i bought my Sienna, you win that round I guess, but i’m going to tell absolutely everyone. Have a great day.
