I just purchased my vehicle from Longo Toyota. Everything was fine until I discovered a couple of days after the purchased that they have pulled a fast one on me. I am not sure if everybody is Everything was fine until I discovered a couple of days after the purchased that they have pulled a fast one on me. I am not sure if everybody is aware (I was not), that there is a new law in California that requires every Dealer to imprint or mark the VIN number of every vehicle on the Catalytic Converters prior to being sold. However, the lawmakers, in their infinite wisdom, gave the dealerships a way out, not to perform this requirement. They wrote into the law that the Dealer is required to mark the Catalytic converters UNLESS the buyer refuses to do so. Here is what happened. As we were going thru the process of signing the contract electronically, (you touch a computer screen to sign the document), the salesmen was really pushing me to purchase an extended warranty for the vehicles as well as an alarm (similar to a lojack). AT NO TIME DURING OUR CONVERSATION DID HE ASK ME WHETHER I WANTED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS MARKED OR NOT. As we were talking, we were going thru the motions of signing the contract. Then we were done. I drove my new car home. A couple of days later, as I was reviewing the paperwork, I discovered a document which I signed, saying that I declined to have the Catalytic Converters marked. It was then that I realized that the Salesman successfully distracted me from knowing about the requirement by talking incessantly about the extended warranty and the alarm. I called the Salesman about it and his response was “too late, you already signed the document”. I emailed the Manager. He did not even bother to respond. So new buyers, BEWARE. Before everything else, when buying your car at Longo Toyota, you should let them know right away if you want your Catalytic converters marked with the VIN Number. This could help you in the future, if your catalytic converters end up being stolen. More

Pros : Got a car for MRSP Cons : 1. Zero Customer Satisfaction. You ask a question they don’t have answer, they just ask you to move out of the deal and they can find a new seller. 2. Zero Customer Satisfaction. You ask a question they don’t have answer, they just ask you to move out of the deal and they can find a new seller. 2. They have tie-ups with CarMax nearby. Just my experience with them was horrifying. I was getting an offer of $12600(expired a day ago) from CarMax while Longo was giving us an offer of $12500. We were ready to sell it to Longo to avoid multiple hops but Longo asked us if we have Carmax deal and they could match it. They decided to match up with CarMax, took 10 mins and returned back saying they changed their mind and can only offer $11000 and the only reason they gave was “Change of Mind”. When we refused and mentioned we will go to Carmax and sell, they said they have already called CarMax and now they have also decided to reduce the offer to $11000. Long story short, We found a new CarMax location, got the car re-evaluated and sold it to a higher price :) Overall, the experience was too tedious. More
