I have been in the automotive industry for 20 plus years and still enjoy helping people get into a vehicle they want to own. I enjoy spending time with Family and do a little Golfing and Fishing in my spare time.

I went to this dealership on Jan. 9, 2025. After looking at their website and finding a 2020 Ford Edge on site, I went inside and met Eric. I had previously been told on the phone to a 9, 2025. After looking at their website and finding a 2020 Ford Edge on site, I went inside and met Eric. I had previously been told on the phone to ask for Steve( Heim), so I did. Eric told me that Steve was busy at the moment. I talked to Eric about the Edge, which was listed for $14000 and had 109,000 miles on it. I gave Eric any information he requested for a credit check. While I was quite aware of how horrendous my credit is, I had been told that Grote was very good at dealing with bad credit. After a while, Eric returned and told me he could not get the Edge financed because of the high mileage. Instead, he had another vehicle, which he had already pulled up to the door for a test drive. It was a 2022 Ford Escape. We did not talk about the price at this time. I should also mention, I am handicapped, I have congestive heart failure, am on SSDI, and this was later in the evening, so I feel like my judgement was somewhat impaired. After driving the Escape, I agreed to purchase it. When we re-entered the dealership, I was then introduced to a guy who I was told was Steve. This guy then proceeded to do all of the work involving getting the vehicle financed. The only time I heard anything about price, was when 'Steve" said my payments would be around $600 a month. I then asked what the length of the note was, and Eric chimes up that it would be around 60 months.I knew that it would be pricey, but I was prepared to make it happen. I was told by "Steve" that the down payment would be $500, even though I'd offered $1000. I was then pressured into getting a cosigner. I didn't want to go that route for my own reasons, however I finally called my wife and asked her to cosign for me. Every document we signed was electronic, and I had a laptop put in front of me, I was never shown or explained to what the documents were. I was told where to sign. That was it. My wife, received all of the documents in her email and signed them and returned them. She noticed and later told me what I had signed. I had agreed to pay $48000 over 75 months. When the dealership was closing, we were wrapping up the process and leaving in the Escape. I had acquired the Insurance, provided every document they asked for and was certain that it was a done deal. On the way out, I asked "Steve"what his last name was. He said his name was Steve Heim. Over the next couple of days, I received calls from the dealership, requesting various documents. The caller identified himself as Rich. I also received a call from the financing company verifying information which had been submitted as well as requesting more documents I was completely honest and forthcoming with all parties concerned. Finally, on Tuesday, Jan 14, I received a text message from Rich, saying the financing had fallen through and I had to return the Escape..To wrap this up it turned out that 1st, the Steve that I met was actually named Rich Jasso. Steve is the store manager, Rich is the Sales manager. Why would he hide his identity? Second, rich had had given the Finance Company the wrong information regarding my credit application. He told them that other vehicles that I owned had been total in an accident and that was not the case. Even if it was a mistake he cost me the financing by essentially lying to the finance company. When they contacted me I had told them the truth. Furthermore I was now perturbed by the whole experience, I've been lied to, cheated and spoken to very rudely. I did receive my down payment back. But due to the totality of the circumstances, I would never deal with these people again and nor would I advise anybody else to. More
