I found a vehicle I liked on their website. I submitted an online inquiry and received an answer in a short amount of time from a lady that I later found out was just an online rep. When I went to the Elkhart store, she was not the one I delt with, it was another salesman. He started asking me for all types of information and asked me to fill out paperwork. I told him, "I did everything online". He said I still needed to fill out the paperwork as verification. The salesman did fine but I never like the "I'll talk to my manager" treatment. I had hoped that filling out everything online would make the process very simple, but it still took a while. The truck purchased was nice but when I was driving it home from the dealership, the low tire light came on. Later that evening, my wife was driving it and the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. As the salesman bragged about their "100 Point Inspection", I was not impressed. All in all, I did not have good credit but they helped me get the truck, working with a lender, getting an affordable payment plan. More

Tyler was great. You could tell he was newer but got me into my new ride. The sales manager, Steve, was not the most pleasant. They instantly ran a soft credit check You could tell he was newer but got me into my new ride. The sales manager, Steve, was not the most pleasant. They instantly ran a soft credit check as soon as I walked in the door WITHOUT my permission. They wanted to do this before they even showed me the car I was interested in. Then the sales manager came over and tried scaring me away basically saying my credit is poor and it will be “very difficult” to get me into the car I wanted. You’re a buy here pay here dealer. I know my credit isn’t the greatest but that does not give you the right to treat people poorly and shove it in their face that they have poor credit. Thanks for getting me into my new ride but I will not be recommending Grote to anyone. More
