We purchased a used vehicle and I like that we were able to purchase a great warranty thru Ford. In the past we have had some bad experience with third party warranty companies who don’t stand by their war to purchase a great warranty thru Ford. We actually had fun buying a car. More

I had long been interested in a Ford Maverick Hybrid, but did not want to pay the 5-7 thousand dollar "market adjustment" Long Island dealers were asking for in-stock vehicles, so I knew my only chance at MS did not want to pay the 5-7 thousand dollar "market adjustment" Long Island dealers were asking for in-stock vehicles, so I knew my only chance at MSRP was to order one. I missed the short ordering window in 2022 for the 2023 model year, but got my order in for a 2024 in July 2023. Phil Calabretta, Master Sales Consultant at Newins Bay Shore Ford, took my order and deposit. The ordering experience was friendly and stress-free. Phil answered all my questions and was a pleasure to deal with. Eleven months later I got a call from Phil telling me my vehicle was in. I was thrilled, as I had expected my wait to be a year and a half, if not more, based on what I had read online about the experiences of other Maverick buyers throughout the country. I went in to see it and to sign the relevant documents for the final invoice and registration. There were no surprises - no dealer prep fees and no attempts to sell me high-profit dealer-installed options. Even the conversation with Joseph Corcione, Business Manager, for an extended service contract was friendly and casual. We never even got to price quotes as I had pretty much made it clear that I wasn't an extended warranty type. Still, as a current Maverick owner himself, Joe offered helpful insights as to what I might expect in terms of ownership, real-world fuel economy, etc. I got my bank check and returned with my wife the next day to complete the purchase and pick up the vehicle. It was again as friendly and stress-free as one could imagine. Phil took his time explaining all of the controls and features of the truck, and helped us download and set up the FordPass app onto our phones, as well as explain the rewards program. He even did his best to win over my wife (not a Maverick convert yet), and right before we left, after excusing myself to use the rest room, returned to find he had given her a dealer t-shirt and cap. I have not enjoyed the car buying experience in the past, and as a general rule, view car dealers with suspicion and more than a bit of dread. I can honestly say my experience this time around was truly enjoyable (who knew?). If you are like me - apprehensive due to prior bad dealer experiences - and are looking for a vehicle and live on Long Island, you owe yourself a visit to Newins Bay Shore Ford, and especially to meet Phil Calabretta. You won't regret it. Honest, friendly, stress-free, and professional - need I say more? More
