The dealership refused to take it back, wouldn’t work out a fair deal, and didn’t reimburse my $247 rental. Sales Manager Mike Gero told me, “If every business were run honorably, they would go out of business.” If you’re buying a used car from Jerry Ulm, know that once you sign, they take no responsibility—no matter what happens. Full Review: I purchased a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi, a plug-in hybrid, from Jerry Ulm Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Tampa. Within 150 miles of driving, the car broke down. While frustrating, I brought it back in, hoping it could be repaired quickly. While the vehicle was in service, a recall was performed that permanently removed its plug-in capability, eliminating one of the car’s primary features. Naturally, I was disappointed and returned to the dealership, expecting to have a conversation about how they could make things right. Given the rare nature of the situation, my expectation was that they would either take the car back entirely and make me whole on the last deal, or at the very least, work with me on a fair new deal. Additionally, my car was in service for 10 days, during which I had to rent a vehicle for $247—an expense the dealership did not reimburse. When I tried to discuss options with Sales Manager Mike Gero, his attitude was dismissive. At one point, he asked me pointedly, "What do you want to have me do?" I responded with, "I think the honorable thing in a very rare situation like this would be to take back the car and make me whole on the other transaction so we can move forward with buying a new car." His response? "If every business were run honorably, then they would all go out of business." That statement alone speaks volumes about how Jerry Ulm Dodge Chrysler Jeep approaches customer service and integrity. Beyond that, he also made it very clear that once a used car leaves the lot, it’s no longer their problem—even if it breaks down immediately. Ultimately, after further discussions, we couldn’t reach an agreement. It was evident that the dealership was unwilling to work toward a reasonable resolution, and they did not seem to care that the car they sold me was no longer functioning as advertised. If you’re considering buying a used car from Jerry Ulm Dodge Chrysler Jeep, be prepared for zero support once you sign the contract—no matter what happens next. Everything went smooth until delivery. Truck was taken for detailing and Tarno Cover installation at 3. I waited unafter 5 for it to return.
