Unfair/Shady Business Practice I've been doing my research extensively online for the Mazda 3 Hatch and why I should choose Mazda over its competitors. Attempting to convince my gir I've been doing my research extensively online for the Mazda 3 Hatch and why I should choose Mazda over its competitors. Attempting to convince my girlfriend who has only ever heard of BMW, Lexus, Mercedes and so on, I sought to convince her through features, driving comfortability and price. I arrived to the dealership on July 21, 2019 on one of the hottest days of New York. Weather reports stated that it would be above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Understandably, I would not dress in business causal attire and was dressed casually. I was in shorts, an over sized button down and some running sneakers. I arrived to the dealership after traveling 2 hours, walking 45 minutes in the heat just to see the car. I was really interested in it, promoting it to my friends and saying how Mazda has redone their hatch from beginning to end. Arriving to the dealership and after speaking to the receptionist, I told them that I was here to test drive a car and I have an appointment. Not only did she not know who it was with, she had no record of it, despite her name (Thamina) in my text messages. Even after leaving the dealership, she sends me a text message asking if I can make it to the dealership that day (?) I was one of two customers there. There were 3 salesman available, and the finance manager Steve. After examining the car and not being approached by a sales rep for 5 minutes, I approached Jim and finally I got someone to talk to me. We test drove the car and it was great. Smooth ride and despite a lack of functionality vs the Honda Civic Sport Touring I was looking at, I was ready to talk prices. Here's where things go sour. I was treated like a child due to the way I was dressed and he was trying to talk me into putting a down payment for the car through shady business practices. I told him what's the best offer you can do for the car, no bull, I don't want to put a down payment on the car, because I have no use for liquidity. So no point in putting a down payment as cost in the end is the same. He comes back a while after speaking to his manager. He said that best base price would be 29 thousand. I've done my research for a month and argued to all my friends why the Mazda3 is the best of it's class. Fair Market Value for the car ranges from 28,017-29,126 per Edmunds in my area. I told him, I was quoted at $26,900 per dealership from Peruzzi Mazda by Sarah (who was great btw). Then I was like why is there such a big difference? He said "This is the best I can do with no money down". He continued saying "You do know that there is a tax of at least $2,300 for the car, can you do that?" Excuse me? I was baffled and offended. 1. What does a down payment have to do with the pricing of the car? 2. I put a down payment on a Honda and paid $1,300 for a 26K car. Is sales tax for a car 25% after base price of 25k? Is that why I''ll be putting down 250$ in taxes per 1000$ of base price? He continued to say well if you put a down payment, tax will be lower. I asked him why would I pay a down payment + initial tax and the tax on down payment? He said "It'll lower your taxes in the long run". What???????????????? I told him it'll be the same because it's a MF not interest. I don't see why I would do this since I told you I don't need the liquidity every month. I then told him I'm thinking about 27K for the car, he then shows me the price of a similar car and the invoice for a similar car. I told him, listen, we all know you can do lower than that. You get rebates and so on for the car. He said "No, not for this car." What? So you pay full price for cars with no rebates? Is that how dealerships work? I literally cringed thinking wow, he's really trying to flease me right now. After getting up and saying call me if you change your mind. Which is reasonable, he says "No, call me when you're more reasonable." <= This is the attitude of your salesman From beginning to end, I was treated as if I did not understand how dealerships work or how car prices work and I believe he was trying to take advantage of me due to me looking and dressing like a teen. Mazda has lost a faithful promoter of their brand. Mazda makes great cars but due to an ineffective sales team, is causing the business to YTD May 2019 down 16% in sales while your competitors are seeing an increase in Market share. I walked down 10 avenues to Honda, made a down payment on a car and wash my hands of this after this review. I faced discrimination, was talked to like a child and I will never purchase a Mazda, ever. More

New CX-5 2018 Owner for 2+ Months Jim was welcoming to me and my family. He listened to our needs and gave us many options. He gave me a good trade in value for my old Mazda 3. We were able to get the grand touring model with the extras we desired. He had our car ready the next day on a Sunday on time. We looked at a few extra services plans for my new Mazda that took advantage of. I drove home with a smile on my face and my family loves our new car. I went and met with Saiful and let him know what I had planned on getting and that I was just browsing. He understood my needs and suggested I get the mazda3 sport. I saw the vehicle, test drove it. And fell in love! I also worked with Jim, Jay and Julio. They made the process so easy and treated me like family and a valued customer. Even upon entering the dealership, it’s beautiful, STATE OF THE ART!!! You guys, don’t sleep on this dealership lol. I came in to browse and left with a vehicle with the help of the wonderful staff at Koeppel Mazda. I’m in love with my vehicle!!! Thank you guys !!! More

After compering price/value for all those cars with avg price 40k, I decide I will stick with Mazda Cx-9.After two visits, my salesperson Jim Mendez offer me good deal (IMO).
