I bought a new Explorer without the the trailer tow package because it was the only red one they had. I was told I could put on a aftermarket hitch no problem. Imagine my dismay when my local repair sh package because it was the only red one they had. I was told I could put on a aftermarket hitch no problem. Imagine my dismay when my local repair shop told me they would have to cut a hole in the bumper and they didn't feel comfortable doing it. Talked to the local Ford dealer and they said Ford didn't even make a hitch for this scenario! I just need to tow a lightweight trailer occasionally and now I'm stuck with a vehicle I can't tow with, at least without cutting a big gaping hole in the bumper. All due to a slick talking lying salesman saying anything to make a sale. Beware of believing what these people say. More
