Since 2010, I've leased over 15 Mercedes vehicles, primarily from one sales person. Given the relationship we had cultivated, I was able to special order a variety of vehicles and even get his only a primarily from one sales person. So upon his retirement, I was concerned that I would have to start from scratch as I've never had much success with local San Diego dealers nor those in OC. Fortunately, he strongly recommended that I contact John Blackledge as my wife desired one of the first G580s. I reached out to John in June, one year before my wife's lease was set to expire, to place an order. John was extremely helpful and transparent on the process and potential pricing. He noted that while other dealers were asking over sticker, he would not. He placed the order on my behalf and kept me updated throughout the entire process over the next 5-6 months. Once the truck was close to arriving at the port at Long Beach, he provided very clear breakdown of the lease, showing MF (not inflated), RV, and cap cost. He also reviewed my Excel worksheet with calculations, and our numbers were in synch. I drove up from San Diego on a Tuesday morning to return my wife's GLS and retrieve her new G580. My only complaint was that it took some time to get in with Harry in finance to finalize all the paperwork. The issue appeared to be with their Used Car manager which John and Harry were able to resolve on my behalf since they were buying back my car versus waiving the remaining 6 payments via Loyalty Accelerator. But, once I got in with Harry, the process was rather efficient, and Harry was able to convert me to a 39 month lease given the RV was comparable to 36 months. John has earned my business as I look forward to working with him in the future. If you're seeking a Mercedes, consider my endorsement. More
