Mac Haik of Houston Texas is the most unprofessional dealership I have ever encountered in my life! I live out of state and called to inquire about a vehicle beginning on December 31, 2024. The first sa dealership I have ever encountered in my life! I live out of state and called to inquire about a vehicle beginning on December 31, 2024. The first salesman I received told me their listing price was the final price of the vehicle and when I threw a counteroffer toward the vehicle he said “thanks for the offer” and I didn’t hear back from him. I had to reach out to him and ask if that meant there was no wiggle room or negotiations or anything? and he said no. I did my research on the vehicle I was interested in and I have never went to a dealership and them not budge on the price at all, especially considering they mark their prices up so they can make a profit , whether it’s a little more on my trade or less on the new (used) vehicle I was inquiring about, there is always wiggle room . I was verbally quoted a price and while watching the vehicle on line while in the process of purchasing this vehicle, the price went up over $800 in less than 48 hours. A manager “discounted” me $500 off the original listed vehicle price. Which is highly appreciated but not going to move any numbers around to achieve my payment goals, which was only off by $140. Because of the mark up on the inquired vehicle, I was then told I was given a $1,600 discount off the listing price, which was not the case. They told me I was getting a “steal for this vehicle because they reduced their price to help me out” when all they did was show me that they were selling me this vehicle less than market value, Which they were now going off of the marked up price from the 48 hours. In my line of work, that is not proper or ethical business. When you enter into a pending sale you don’t agree on the price and then at the end they tell you it’s actually $800 more than our initial listing price we gave you because while your were in the process of buying this vehicle the market value went up. And then say “we gave you a $1600 discount, Look at the deal you are getting.” Then I get another manager involved and go over my payment goals with him and when the numbers come out, it’s not anywhere close and they say there’s nothing they can do unless I put thousands of dollars more down. When in fact, once the general manager got involved, it took a 10 minute conversation with him for him to help me and get my numbers exactly where I needed them to be and everyone walk away happy. Once I was waiting for the final phone call to finalize this deal and complete this purchase, I continued to call the dealership numerous times in the same day and send many texts and emails to see if we could wrap this up and if I could come close this deal, no one would answer my phone calls or respond to my texts and emails, not my salesman, or the managers. Hours later I get a phone call from the general manager saying that even though I have been in the process of trying to buy this vehicle for four days (from December 31, 2024 to January 3, 2025) they sold it from underneath me while he was at a meeting off site. I am highly disappointed and just cannot believe that people are okay with doing business like this. More
