With a lengthy timeline, you have the opportunity to know the good, the bad and the ugly of an organization. Acura of LR could use some assistance in their service department. Over the years, we have had countless issues, but the latest one brings me to the survey board. I scheduled an oil change online for 6/12/25, and noticed a recall on my sunroof "popping". Yes, the popping I had been mentioning each time I had come in but was seemingly dismissed as nothing. I scheduled to bring my car back the next week, 6/18/25, for it to be fixed. I was given a loaner car, which was nice since I didn't get a call until 4:00 on Friday 6/20/25 that my car was ready. When I got home, I noticed a greasy handprint on the cream headliner, as well as a variety of covers and things that were left hanging down. No huge deal, but I was annoyed by the handprint. I work hard, and take good care of my stuff. I noticed the popping had moved further back in the car, so called Chris Freeman and scheduled another week to bring my car back. I did so on 7/8/25. Friday, 7/11/25, Chris called asking me to go ride with the technician, because they couldn't find the popping. Colonel Glenn from Sherwood is quite the haul, but off I went. I rode with the technician who now heard the popping and said it was in the back right panel. Left my car, and we are going into week two. 7/15/25, Chris called to tell me they still couldn't identify how to correct the issue, and were working on it. I said I wanted to pick up my car on Thursday, no matter what happened. Thursday, 7/17/25, Chris called to tell me the popping was a "body" issue, and they weren't a body shop. At this point, I'm feeling like it's a guessing game, no one knows, and everyone thinks I'm crazy. (the popping is still there in case anyone wondered) My husband and I went to pick up my car at 12:30 on 7/17/2025. The first thing I did when I got in was to look for handprints on the liner. I don't know why they even touched the liner since it was in the back panel, but dark greasy handprints covered the cream headliner. I immediately got out and went in to speak with the other service advisor (Chris Freeman was on lunch). I forget his name, but he's the tall thin service advisor, who sits to the left of Chris. He could care less about my issue, and simply advised that he send it to Detail. It was at this point that I began to express my concern. I had just driven 45 minutes from Sherwood, on lunch, and now you want to send me home just so I can come back later. We spoke with a supervisor who cared even less about the issue. Of course our hands are tied. We have no option but to send it to Detail and hope they get the greasy handprints out. We almost have this vehicle paid for, and hope to have it for years to come, and want it in great condition. Chris Freeman called me as soon as he got back from lunch, apologizing profusely. Two hours later, my car was again ready for pick up, which I did, with Chris continuing to apologize. We noticed some additional greasy spots on the cream leather seats, to which Chris got a cleaner and cloth, and took care of. My point here is: the Acura service department should be looking for these things before sending a car out with a customer. They could avoid a lot of unnecessary chaos just by looking things over correctly. We've bought one of these 7 vehicles from Acura of LR, with the majority of them in Fayetteville. Acura of LR has dropped the ball so many times, that my husband is debating other brands in the future. This is unfortunate, because honestly, I love an MDX. I've not even mentioned the headliner shredding that also occurred around the sunroof. When I picked up my car last Thursday, Chris was going to check on it, but thought the whole headliner would need to be replaced. I both want it fixed and dread it too. More
