Got my car on the schedule very quickly so I appreciate that. However, they had taken off several access panels inside my van to complete the job, and when I got in my car, the panels were laying on the fl that. However, they had taken off several access panels inside my van to complete the job, and when I got in my car, the panels were laying on the floor of the back seat. I drove back in, a man from the service center came and put them back on and then walked away. The garage door had closed behind me, there was a car being worked on in front of me and apparently I was supposed to figure out how to get out. Thankfully a gentleman that worked at the front desk of the service center came in, apologized, moved the car in front of mine, and opened up and exit door for me. Yikes, the service guys might know cars but someone else should handle all customer interactions and double check their work so these types of things can be prevented. Makes me wonder what else was half way completed… More

In this day and age I’ve found it’s best to manage my expectations with service experiences. That strategy paid off with my most recent trip to Basney service related to an air bag light. My Honda is 13 expectations with service experiences. That strategy paid off with my most recent trip to Basney service related to an air bag light. My Honda is 13 years old and I hoped using a dealership for this service would ensure brand-specific accuracy. Instead of being disappointed that the service took longer than expected, I assumed it would take at least two days and I arranged alternate transportation during that time. Basney also prepared me for the possibility of a part needing to be ordered, which could lead to a longer wait. Nice surprise: Basney called me with updates. A specific reason I had avoided Basney as a service provider for two or more years was because I had to check on progress myself and since nobody responded to voicemail messages, I had to make multiple calls. The part was in stock, which surprised both me and the tech who called me, and the service was complete by end of the same day I dropped it off. Nobody was unfriendly at the dealership, but I still got a sense that I was a bother. I don’t need to be welcomed with open arms, especially if you fix my car right on the first try, but I also don’t want to feel like I should apologize for needing to take some of your time to pay you hundreds of dollars. More
