Let me start by saying avoid Terrance and do not finance with them as they are crooks. Here is my story: I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding my experience with L with them as they are crooks. Here is my story: I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding my experience with Lou Sobh Kia Newnan. I spent about two hours at the dealership working through the vehicle purchase process and was ultimately allowed to leave the lot with the vehicle even though the transaction had not yet been finalized and I had not signed the final finance paperwork, which I was told would be completed Tuesday. Because I currently hold a New York driver’s license, their staff informed me they were unable to complete the Georgia registration process immediately and asked that I return Tuesday with a Georgia driver’s license to finalize everything. Despite knowing the registration and finance process was incomplete, this dealership still allowed me to leave operating the vehicle with what appeared to be a “test drive” plate and paperwork identifying the vehicle as a “borrowed car.” - please google “Is driving with a “test drive” plate legal in the state of Georgia. Later that evening, I was pulled over by law enforcement and informed that the vehicle could have been towed. I was also advised there was no proper proof of registration or insurance documentation associated with the vehicle at the time. Fortunately, the officer was professional and allowed me to return home, but specifically advised me not to drive the vehicle again until the situation is corrected. This occurred around 9:12 PM while I had multiple passengers in the vehicle. What should have been an exciting experience instead became stressful, embarrassing, and extremely concerning. I find it deeply troubling that a dealership would knowingly allow a customer to leave under these circumstances, especially when the transaction itself had not even been finalized. Additionally, during the process I was told that “Andrew” was the sales manager involved in the transaction, yet I later found Winston publicly listed as the sales manager. I would appreciate clarification regarding who Andrew is and what role or authority he holds within the dealership. (which was never addressed) I spoke with the GM and here is how I felt afterwards: Following my recent call with the General Manager at Kia, I feel even more concerned about how this situation has been handled. During the call, I was told that it was legal to drive using the test plate. However, even a simple Google search shows that this is inaccurate. Additionally, the General Manager’s first response to me was, “I don’t know how there is a problem when I gave you all the paperwork,” which is simply false. I never dealt with him directly during the transaction. I only worked with Terrance and Amanda. The only document Terrance provided was the borrower sheet, and he specifically stated, “If a cop pulls you over, just show them this.” What is most concerning is the manner in which this issue was handled. Instead of listening to my concerns, the call began with me being told that I was wrong and that this situation was somehow my fault. I was repeatedly talked over, and eventually asked, “Okay, well what do you want me to do for you?” Frankly, I found it absurd that a General Manager could not independently propose a reasonable solution to a problem created by his dealership. At this point, I requested that the vehicle be picked up immediately. (which it was picked up) I also have text messages referencing the urgency to “get this car sold before the weekend was up,” which now raises additional concerns for me regarding whether the rush to complete the sale contributed to the poor service and handling of this transaction. Unfortunately, the issues began with my very first interaction with their sales staff, and the experience since then has only reinforced those concerns. I have retained all text messages and documentation related to this matter should they become necessary. More
