As the world of e-commerce has grown, there have been many companies that embraced the voice of the customer. It is not a new idea; automotive dealers have always known the best form of advertising is word of mouth. A happy customer refers their friends and family, and in return a sales person no longer relies on advertising dollars spent by the dealer to bring customers to the showroom. They are able to earn their living from repeat customers and referrals.

Falling Sales, Have You Been Impacted?

The Wall Street Journal has an article about the overall decline in new car sales for March, 2008. Not really a surprise given the state of the economy and the dollar, but some of the suggestions it gave buyers don't line up with what all car buying advocates have been preaching for years and years. Has the economy had an effect on the old tried and true methods?

2008 BMW M3 Sedan Becomes Official

The 2008 BMW M3 Sedan has been officially "released" by BMW. With it, comes an end to the rumors of whether or not BMW was actually going to release it with this new chassis. Having not released a sedan version of the E46 M3, few believed they would be releasing it on this new E90 chassis. Well, they are, and in 2008, the same year the coupe version is to be released.

We've received a few inquiries about this update pertaining to a dealer's Ratings and Total Number of Reviews, so we thought it would be best to address it in public incase there were other people wondering why their rating went up or down and why their total number of reviews did the same.

BMW, Mercedes & Audi July Sales Report

BMW has won July's sales round pitted against its fellow German manufacturers Mercedes and Audi. Posting an impressive 21% sales increase from July of 2006.

VIDEO: Getting airborne in the refreshed BMW 5-Series

The Spies and DealerRater were busy last month driving the lot of 5 Series from Death Valley to Monterey, with a breathtaking drive through Yosemite Park. In appearance were the 528, 535, 550 and M5. While the weather was 90 degrees and sunny, BMW also included the AWD versions for testing as well. Overall it was a fantastic rally, and the winners went home with nice BMW watches and a 5 Series of their choice for a month. We did not win, but had we won, I think both Agent001 and myself would have chosen to take home the 535.

POLL: Pricing? Proximity? Selection?...

There are many factors that go into your purchase of a new car...even after you've already selected the car you want. What makes one buyer select a dealership over another? Is it strictly the pricing the dealer is able to work, or have people found that pricing rarely plays the most important part in the relationship between you and your dealer?
