My Kia has been having the knock sensor code since - Pissedoffsoulowner
My Kia has been having the knock sensor code since October 2024. Every time I took it to the dealership they tell me it passes the bearing test and I need some expensive part. I’ve replaced the ecu, the knock sensor, new valve covers, a new battery, and most recently they told me the catalytic converter needs to be replaced and they quoted me 4200 dollars. The funny thing is I had a loaner and it took them 3 days to come up with something, the other times they had it for 2 weeks + with little to no communication. I said no and picked up the car. I took my car to my mechanic and it passed all testing, including the emissions test. They said if something was wrong with it even slightly that it would not pass emissions. The last time I picked it up a different advisor told me they are screwing me over. That’s pathetic. On March 13 I spoke to the manager Brad Holt and he let me know that’s what his techs found and that I should take my car elsewhere and not to them. Dealing with this service department has been an absolute nightmare. Don’t buy KIA! And don’t go to Doug Smith Kia in Lindon Utah!
