There are a few important decisions one makes over the course of their life. What college we go to, where we choose to live, and who we choose to marry are some examples - How we choose to get around and where we buy our vehicles is equally as important in my opinion. A new car symbolizes the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new adventure; it serves as a point of reference for memories past and unrealized. What you drive and who hands you the keys matters.
Back in 2019 I purchased my first brand new car - A 2019 Subaru Impreza MT base model. This was a daunting experience for me having always purchased used and from the moment I walked through the doors of Lithia I was greeted with a very warm and inviting atmosphere, smiles, and professionalism. Every step of the way I was provided with assurance that I was in good hands and that based on my needs, I would be taken care of; that has translated throughout the entire ownership of my Impreza exactly as promised.
Now that a few years have gone by and my priorities in life are shifting, I decided that now is as good a time as ever to explore what a "fun" car has to offer. After some research into what I was looking for, I settled on test driving a 2024 BRZ to get a feel for a smaller chassis car and began my interactions with Nygel.
I knew immediately that I liked Nygel - He was incredibly polite, well dressed, listened to my questions intently and was extremely knowledgeable about the car on our test drive. As a former salesperson myself, I am particularly acute to how much someone is paying attention to me and retaining information when I'm in the role of a customer, and Nygel's ability to build rapport while simultaneously showcasing the different aspects of the vehicle was truly impressive. I knew I wanted to work with him but needed to do some additional research, and Nygel very respectfully left the door open for me to come back.
I ended up interacting with multiple salespeople over the course of the next few weeks, and though some visits to other Subaru dealerships didn't quite feel the same as going to Lithia I was able to get a deal on a 2025 BRZ that was too good to pass up, so I gave Nygel a call in good faith to let him know that I had finished my search and would be on the road by early December. I'm fortunate to have another vehicle to get around in the meantime but would not object to getting my new car a few months earlier than expected, even if it was missing a few options that I wanted.
Nygel went the extra mile, was able to beat the deal, and was able to keep my business in the Lithia family while being transparent, professional and while making me feel genuinely cared for as a customer which is very hard to come by in auto sales. His warm demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond to do right by his customers and truly earn their business is unique and any company would be fortunate to have him represent them. I was not surprised to see how busy he was when I came in yesterday to sell my Impreza (I can't remember the gentleman's name who helped me with this but the offer for my car was extremely fair and he deserves recognition too!), nor was I surprised when he found some time to hand me a completed order form for my new 2025 BRZ with every accessory I wanted. The guy is in a class of his own.
I am proud to make my memories at Lithia Subaru of Oregon City and will continue to for the foreseeable future - Their professionalism and dedication to creating positive experiences is rare and they are a shining example of what all dealerships should strive to be. I have no doubt that each experience is uniquely tailored to the individual to make them feel like they're part of the Subaru family.
