Wow. My experience purchasing my 2025 Maverick from Don at Skyline couldn't have gone better. It was the best car buying experience of my life. Don & his team in finance & customer followup were indivudually excellent. I was referred to Skyline by my brother-in-law (TJ) despite it being a very long across-state drive from my home in NE Oregon. My other brother-in-law (O) had rececently satisfactoraily purchased a new truck from the Ford dealership closest to my home, but my husband objected to their less than stellar local reprutation. Don went the extra mile & beyond (more than once) to figure out how to get the make, model, & options in wanted. When an option didn't materialize within a reasonable time-frame he ordered one for me & made the expectation clear that there would be a wait. I was able to follow the build schedule for mine online & Don called me to let me know it was in transit to him before the messge arrived from Ford. My anxiety on the long drive to the dealership was totally unnecessary. I was greeted & shown my car while the paperwork was retrieved. The signing process (by design) was quick, professional & efficient. There were no delays or surprises except me metionioning I wanted a custom Pollinator Plate to support the OSU Bee Lab. Don had worked diligently between the build & delivery to arrange my financing at a favoriable rate through a credit union (SELCO) unknown to me. As it turned out as I was arranging to add my new Maverick to my insurance, the Wheatland Insurance representative I spoke to went out of her way to tell me that she knew all about SELCO & that they are a great lender. Back to Don... After signing the paperwork, Don showed me around the outside of the car & sat with me inside to go over safe operation of the vehicle. I was intimidated & overwhelmed when I first sat down in the drivers seat. I don't know if Don knew this, but the first thing he did was show me how easy it was to connect my iPhone. I was expecting multiple attempts to get the connection but it worked seamlessly on the first attempt. This simple first step of making the interior of the vehicle feel familiar rapidly deescalated my fear as I realized that I was not going to have to learn a new proprietary computer system to safely operate my new car. As Don proceeded systematically through all the functions, I was amazed to learn that the controls in the Maverick are physically present in the car & almost entirely duplicated on the generously sized computer screen. Wow that was exciting to realize. By this time I was exstatic & thinking to myself that Ford had hit this design OUT OF THE PARK. Having always preferred to drive foreign cars, I never dreamed that I would voluntarily purchase & be satisfied with a Ford as my primary vehicle. I am so glad I made this decision to purchase a hybrid, without ever having test driven one. Before the sale, Don was kind enough to enthusiastically share his personal experience driving his own Maverick. I told Don that until my new Maverick arrived I would be transitioning over from driving my beloved 2015 Volvo sedan to driving a 2006 Ford F350 V-10 pickup truck as my primary vehicle because of a blown engine. Don didn't hesitate to explain, based on his own experience & knowledge of the two cars I just mentioned, why I would really like driving the new Maverick. Turns out he was absolutely correct about that. I love driving my new Maverick. I am a side-liner beekeeper with 35 honey bee colonies & I love the open bed to haul bees between the different bee yards in my operation and the tight turning radius is awesome. I buy multiple 50-pound bags of sugar to prevent starvation in my apiary when nectar isn't available for the bees to forage so the lower tailgate means this elderly lady can heft those in & out the bed with relative ease. I had to launch myself into & out of the extra tall F350 & love the lower profile of the Maverick. I can't imagine a better car buying experience.
