Terrific Service - Helped Me Out of Jam - TomHKane
I was coming from Chicago last Friday to drop my son at Dayton for his senior year and 60 miles out my check engine light came on. This was very annoying as I had just spent $900 on my 60,000 mile checkup the day before and I figure the dealership had messed something up in the process. When I stopped at my son's apartment steam starting to come out of the engine. We unpacked the car quickly and my wife and son moved him in while I scrambled to figure out what to do with the car. I called Volvo of Dayton and described what was happening and said I was coming in to have the car looked at. It turns out the Volvo service manager was on vacation, but when I pulled into the service bay Tom - the service manager for the BMW at Evan Motorworks - said he normally didn't handle Volvo's but would do what he could to help. Two and half hours later they had diagnosed and fixed the problem and I was on my way back to Chicago (the problem was related to a botched recall repair the day before). I was very impressed and grateful for the response I got for my unplanned service call. Everyone was very nice and something that could have ruined my last dropoff at college turned out not to be a big deal. Thanks Tom and thanks Volvo of Dayton!
