Over the years, we have purchased 5 Chrysler/Jeep products, and up until now, have been very happy. But thanks to the treatment we received at the Zeigler dealship, this is the last Chrysler/Jeep pro products, and up until now, have been very happy. But thanks to the treatment we received at the Zeigler dealship, this is the last Chrysler/Jeep product we will ever buy. Instead we are considering initiating a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's office because of how this whole situation was handled. We custom-ordered a vehicle from Zeigler in October. When we went to pick it up at the dealership on December 3rd, we questioned the color, noting that it did not seem to match the color we had ordered. The dealer assured us it was just the weird lighting in their shop, and that it would look like the color we ordered once we got it outside. Unfortunately for us, we believed them. The fact of the matter is -- and the paperwork backs us up -- we indeed were NOT delivered the car we ordered. Once we figured out what had happened, we immediately notified Zeigler. This was within about an hour or so of picking up the car. It was a Saturday afternoon; our check had not yet been cashed, the title transfer paperwork had not yet been filed, and there was only 15 miles on the car. Zeigler's response was basically "too bad," and they told us to contact Chrysler and file a complaint if we were unhappy. We called Chrysler first thing Monday morning. They told us to leave the car parked and not drive it (so it could still be returned and sold as "new") until the issue was resolved (we had done that anyway; Chrysler confirmed that was the right thing to do). We borrowed a car at our own inconvenience for about a week while Chrysler tried to intercede with Zeigler on our behalf. Zeigler's response was that they would take the car back, but only if Chrysler would pay them $2500, because, as they told us, "we'll have trouble getting rid of that car... no one would want that weird color." Indeed. We don't want that weird color either, which is why we didn't order it! As you can imagine, Chrysler did not agree to Zeigler's demands. Zeigler has made absolutely NO EFFORT to resolve the situation or even offer us ANY compensation for the mistake. Instead, they immediately ran to the bank first thing Monday morning (Dec. 5th) and cashed our check (yes, we could have put a stop payment on it over the weekend, but we foolishly assumed we would be dealt with in good faith to resolve the problem), and shortly thereafter pushed through the title transfer paperwork. We are weighing our options (Illinois Attorney General's office, Better Business Bureau, etc.), but in the meantime we are taking every step to warn other consumers against dealing with the Zeigler dealership. If you are looking to buy a Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge, PLEASE SHOP ELSEWHERE! More
Bought a 2010 5.7 300C AWD in November the same day it came in on a trade. I was promised certain items (that should have been fixed before I bought the car) would be fixed, along with a few items that we came in on a trade. I was promised certain items (that should have been fixed before I bought the car) would be fixed, along with a few items that were missing (owner's manual, floor mats, and cigarette lighter) would be replaced. So far I did get them to do one of the things they promised, an alignment, but when I drove away (after they had my car all day), I noticed the car was still pulling to the right. I drove to my local repair shop who brought me in the service area and showed me how far off the alignment was. I explained the situation and was told it didnt seem possable that Zeigler even did an alignment on the car based on what they saw. They did one for me, in less than an hour at 1/2 price, and the car has driven straight ever since. After many unreturned calls to my salesman, Kareem, and getting the run around, I am still waiting for Brian, the manager at Zeigler in Downers Grove, to do what they said they would do in regard to the other items. Although not all dealers are the same, unfortunately, Zeigler Downers Grove seems like one of those car dealerships that gives the whole industry a bad reputation. They tell you what you want to hear to get you to buy the car, but than could care less once you drive away. Honestly, I never got that 'warm fuzzy feeling' you should get when buying a car. The manager Brian showed no respect for my time and seemed more interested in watching the college football game with the other salesman, which was playing on the tv in the showroom, than he did in selling a car. Hopefully, they will do the right thing and do what they said they would do and I can change my review but, after giving them every chance to make things right up to this point, I'm not counting on it. I had done alot of research online before going to any dealers. I also had requested quotes from several of the surrounding dealers. To my suprise, I did not even receive a response from a couple of them dealers. I also had requested quotes from several of the surrounding dealers. To my suprise, I did not even receive a response from a couple of them. You would think in these tough economic times people would be chomping at the bit for business. Apparently that is not the case at some of these dealers. Zeigler Chrysler in Downers Grove responded to my internet inquiry promptly and answered all of my questions about the car I was interested in. I then received a call from Kevin, the Internet Manager, inviting me in for a test drive. We scheduled an appointment, he had the car cleaned up and inside for me to see. We then went on a test drive and I loved it. The entire time I felt very comfortable, which is not the norm when buying a car. I was delighted when they told me the price advertised online was in fact the price I could buy the car for. What a shock, no number games! This is the most professional dealership I have ever dealt with. I will continue buying my cars from Kevin and Zeigler in Downers Grove for years to come. Thank you to everyone. More
