Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Downers Grove

Bought a 2016 Honda Civic in December of 2023, process was largely similar like any dealership, but they tried to add LoJack and an "inspection fee" of $1,999. Was able to get them to remove the LoJack op was largely similar like any dealership, but they tried to add LoJack and an "inspection fee" of $1,999. Was able to get them to remove the LoJack option, but would not budge on the inspection fee. As you can imagine, the "inspection fee" was nothing more than an upcharge. I would normally have just walked, but vehicle was in pristine condition and another interested party was present in the dealership. Finance department personnel was shady, tried to give me a car note rate with at 13.1% with an 820 credit score. Debated with them on this and THEN they indicated they were not doing any outside financing. Okay, not a big deal as I was just going to use my credit union for a refinance at 6.24%, but still a shady process. Ultimately, paid off the vehicle in cash in June of 2024 so not an issue. While they made one deal, they lost 2 other deals on two other Jeep Wrangler's (a 392 Rubicon and a Sahara) as a I took my business to Jack Phelan in Countryside, IL. Would not recommend. Sales guy (Jimmy Isdell) was nice enough guy, but felt he didn't push back enough on the inspection fee item. Again, could have pushed harder on this or even walked, but the car was pristine and another interested party was present, thus supply vs. demand. While my experience wasn't ultimately "bad", I would not recommend this dealership and took my business for 2 Jeep Wrangler's to Jack Phelan in Countryside, which is much farther than Ziegler from my residence. When you have money and great credit, you always have many options...but I would not recommend this dealership for anything CDJR or used. More
