Ripped Off by XL Auto Group I bought a 2012 LR4 from XL Auto. At the point of sale XL noted the front brakes needed to be replaced and said they would complete the repairs. They I bought a 2012 LR4 from XL Auto. At the point of sale XL noted the front brakes needed to be replaced and said they would complete the repairs. They told me to set an appointment to get the brakes done. XL also failed to provide an owner manual which is in their possession ("forgot to put it in the car"). XL also concealed damage by covering rust inside the doors with white caulk and hiding the cracked glass roof by closing the rear-most blind. XL salesman stated that there is damage to the rear of the vehicle on the Car Fax and pointed out a small scrape on the bumper saying that was the damage on the report. The actual damage was a broken rear cargo hinge and broken glass roof which they lied about and pointed to a small scratch instead. I called/emailed/texted the manager over 20 times and he refused to call me back or set an appointment to look at the glass or fix the brakes as written in the sales order. I took the car to the Land Rover dealership and they estimated the brakes and glass roof repairs at over $4000. they also identified leaking air suspension, leaking oil and various other mechanical problems totaling over $5000 in additional work. I paid cash for the car and the day my check cleared XL refused to do the work promised and to this day will not take my call. The manager left the job and gave me contact information for the owner. The only communication I received was to tell me "I don't work there any more, you have to call Roman, the owner". The owner refuses to take my call or return any communications. He won't even mail me the manual. If XL didn't write up the sales order to include the repairs I would never have bought the car. Now it's unsafe to drive due to the brake issue and it's leaking water through the roof, destroying the interior. More
