Night and Day Last Friday the 4 of us went to test drive a vehicle in a dealership, and when we got there, a man looked up from his desk and said “hi can I help you Last Friday the 4 of us went to test drive a vehicle in a dealership, and when we got there, a man looked up from his desk and said “hi can I help you?” We said we had called for a test drive and he said “ok I’ll need one of your licenses” then he walked outside to put the dealer plate on the car and he handed us the key and said “just remember we close in a half hour” and then walked inside and left us outside with the car. We broke down the stroller and put it in the back, strapped the baby in and all got in. When we got back we walked inside and there was a guy leaning way back in his chair with his feet up in a desk talking on his cell phone, there was a desk with a dunkin cup overturned and coffee spilled onto a desk, and the guy who gave us the key said “what did you think?” We said we liked it, we talked price, he dismissed my trade in saying I’d MAYBE get a couple of hundred for it, handed us an application and told us to email him the next day. I left feeling underwhelmed but sent in my application on Saturday afternoon anyway. On Monday morning I finally got a one line reply saying “so and so is running your numbers”. I got a call later saying my numbers came back but he didn’t have details but the finance guy was back from lunch in a half hour and I could call back then for details. I called back and left a message and eventually got a call back. I requested a specific bank and he said he leaves in a half hour so he’d get back to me tomorrow. He got back to me and I said I’d get back to him. I told Sam I wasn’t excited about the car, because it felt smaller inside and I could just as easily keep my old car because it still drives just fine. Sam searched online where he found a similar car, but a year newer which had a bigger cabin. He texted me after he called them and said “Wow what a difference right from the first call. Alyssa was so helpful and friendly. She said they’d gladly look at our trade in to see what we could get for it.” We drove to Whaling City Motors and are met at the door by a super friendly and attentive salesperson, Patty. She walks us up to the office and offers us a coffee, hot chocolate or water. She requests that the car be brought up and then she walks us down to the car, does a walk around, explains how to start it and the features the car has. She explains that she will go with us on our test drive so she can further explain all the car’s features and capabilities. She explains and presses every button in the car, and allows us to ask questions. We get back and we start talking numbers. After a friendly sparring with Filippo, we settle on a number that we are comfortable with. During our interactions, Darnell drove and evaluated our trade in and prepared our financial documents. We eventually met with Steve to sign our financial paperwork. Because we were the last customers of the night, our registration wasn’t ready with the DMV so I had to go back the next day. The next day, I was greeted by Patty with a warm hug and some beautiful flowers. I met Aaron and we reminisced about our time in Plainfield High School. There was one small thing that needed taking care of so I left my car and was given a loaner. My car was ready to come home today, and when I went to pick it up I got to ring the gong! I LOVE MY NEW CAR!!! I have to say, what started off as a very underwhelming experience was quickly turned around by the EXCEPTIONAL customer service and classy team at Whaling City Motors. I highly recommend them and feel confident when I say that they’ve officially earned customers for life. If you’re looking for a new or used vehicle we highly recommend them! More

I searched on the computer and found a F150 I was interested in at Whaling City Ford. This is when things changed. I was put in touch with Darnell Williams. We talked on the phone first as it was a one hour ride for me to get to the dealership. Darnell was very interesting in hearing what I was looking for and easy to negotiate with. On my first visit to Whaling City Ford I was matched with Saleswoman, Patricia Smith. I can’t speak highly enough about her. Patricia went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. On that first visit I made a deposit on the F150. I was happy with the price I got the truck for along with some extras. Dealing with Dean Russo in Finance was seamless and stress free. Everyone I met at Whaling City Ford was genuinely happy for me with my purchase and participated in the ringing of the “gong”. Very knowledgeable about the vehicle and if she did not know the answer she got the answers for me as soon as she could. When we went for the test drive she focused her attention on my 9 month old child so that my girlfriend and I could fully enjoy the vehicle all while answering out questions.
