Yesterday marked car number 3 that we've purchased with Westside Lexus (a 2011 Lexus IS) and car number 4 we've purchased with Alex Winnicki. Clearly that's the mark of an experience done well — in this case, a truly welcoming attitude, a fair approach to car buying and tremendous service on the part of the salesperson and dealer. Their attention to detail and their focus on creating an experiencing worth returning for is highly laudable; from taking the time to fully explain the features of the vehicle at delivery to the option to pick up the car from your place of work or residence for service, down to ensuring that your service loaner will be a Lexus and not something inferior, Westside Lexus very much works to create fans. I recommend that anyone in the market for a Lexus, or a luxury marque in general, pay a visit to Westside Lexus and Alex Winnicki. After much thought about what car to buy I decided to visit Westside Lexus primarily due to a review I had read about the dealership and the salesman Derrick McAdoo. When I arrived at the dealership I asked to see Mr. McAdoo and shortly thereafter Derrick was shaking my hand and making me feel welcome with his warm personality and disarming smile. I mentioned that I had been thinking of buying a Lexus. He asked what model and what options I was interested in and he suggested we take a test drive to get a feel for the car. He made sure that I drove over rough roads, smooth roads and over speed bumps. He wanted me to experience the car's cornering, turning and acceleration abilities. Once we were back at the dealership, he took the time to go over all the interior features and made sure I was familiar with the dashboard, CD player, moonroof, etc. He really wanted to be sure I understood and was comfortable with the car. AND I really appreciated him doing that for me. I felt that he sincerely wanted me to be happy with the car and to know all about its features and handling. I never felt any pressure to buy. I always dread car shopping and come away from a deal wondering whether I have made a good decision. Not this time! I met several people at Westside and let me say that they all were very nice so I recommend this lexus dealer and heartily recommend Derrick McAdoo More
I have been to over a dozen Houston area car dealerships over the last year to purchase 2 preowned vehicles in the 20-30k mile range. I did a lot of research online and initially worried about their listed prices. However, Lexus is a premium car and their listed prices seemed better than their competitor dealerships. My car salesman was Derrick McAdoo. I can't recommend this guy enough! I have always had a huge fear of dishonest car salesmen, but this is certainly not one of them. My car was underwater in the recent flash floods and I was in search of a very specific replacement with a short timeline. Derrick went out with me on numerous test drives, showed me all the neat Lexus gadgets and voice activated technology, clearly explained everything that came with purchasing a certified pre-owned Lexus from Westside, and showed me the carfax and service history. He was very knowledgeable of the models I was interested in. I did not purchase a car the first day, and I was in no way pressured to do so. He printed a clear list of everything they had in inventory with year, model, miles, price, and options for me to take with me. I did not see anything that met my requirements so I told him what cars I would be most interested in. I must have spent 4 hours at the dealership that Saturday. He called me two days later with the perfect car for me. He was very straightforward when it came to negotiating the price. He also did what he could to throw in a few extras like another key. I didn't get a knockout deal like those prices you see on ebay, but I did get an amazing car at a very fair price. There are also no extra fees beyond the document fee and I was not pressured into any upsells or upgrades. Both the protections of a Lexus certified preowned vehicle and the optional warranties offered for sale at the dealership were explained very clearly by the finance department. Of course not everyone gets a miracle car, but if you are looking for a new or preowned Lexus in the Houston area, you HAVE to at least give this place a try. It's very classy and comfortable and there are oven a dozen hot and cold drink options to choose from. I did not have that much contact with the other salespeople and cannot speak for them all, but I can personally recommend Derrick McAdoo. I also talked with Steve Machann, who seemed like another honest, straightforward man in a profession that sometimes gets a bad rap. I have been in way too many dealerships that are more concerned with selling you a car than with helping you find the car you really want to be driving that is in your price range. This dealership has tons of return buyers and you'll hopefully see why pretty quickly. I hope this helps anyone out there looking for a Lexus! This car they sold me is out of this world. I couldn't be happier. More
