Walker Mercedes Benz responded

This customer purchased a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with 79,165 miles from our dealership online. He sent in a 3rd party that he contracted with to check out the vehicle and insure that it was as advertised. After his 3rd party had inspected the vehicle, the customer overnighted the check to purchase the vehicle on Mar 25, AS-IS with no warranty . He flew down and picked up the vehicle on April 15 and drove it back home. The issue with the AC was not reported to us until June 1. Walker Automotive always attempts to provide the most accurate information to our customers about the condition of vehicles that are for sale. Customers are given Carfax reports and are encouraged to drive and inspect the vehicles. Walker cannot and does not make any outside warranties to its customers about potential mechanical breakdown and therefore offers each customer the opportunity to purchase an extended service contract to protect against unforeseen mechanical problems. If the service contract is declined and no manufacturer warranty remains the vehicles are sold “as is” with full disclosure. In this case the customer was offered the service contract and declined. Additionally, the As-Is disclosure is a separate document that explains the limitations and is explained separately from all other paperwork. The customer is then asked to sign and acknowledge the condition of the vehicle. Walker appreciates our customer's comments and feedback and appreciates the opportunity to have an honest dialogue about this vehicle.
