My battery was dead and the snow was piling up daily. They worked with me so that once the car was cleaned and towed (because it couldn't be jumped) they could check the car and replace the battery. Service visit. While employees were cordial, none of the three different individuals that I spoke with about my vehicle trouble actually took time to listen and as While employees were cordial, none of the three different individuals that I spoke with about my vehicle trouble actually took time to listen and ask questions. The bill was written up as if the work performed was only at my (customer) request. Basically, the service dept didn't take any initiative to do any diagnostic work. This is further reinforced by the fact that the dealer ordered a new fuel pump to replace as per the TSB, but didn't bother to flash the ECM with the new firmware per the TSB. When I questioned if the ECM had been flashed I was told it would take a few key cycles to reset. I know this is true for the fuel pump readings, but an ECM isn't going to update on its own. After pushing further, the service rep agreed to have mechanic recheck and update if needed. Thirty minutes later I was told I was ready to go. No verbal or written explanation as to if the ECM flash was done. I had to question again if it had been done and was told yes. The whole experience left me feeling as if I was only being served to make as much money as the dealer could off of my situation. No attention to detail, lacking in diagnosis, and borderline customer care ineptitude. Had I not done my own research and had a scanner to check the ECM calibration ID's, I would have left thinking my issue had been properly fixed. Not the best service experience and I expected a lot more from a Toyota dealership. More
