I entered into a high oil consumption test on 6/27/25. Perversely the 6.6l vehicle was burning 3 quarts to a 5000 mile oil change. At 582 miles driven, I checked the oil and it was 1/2 way on the hash mar Perversely the 6.6l vehicle was burning 3 quarts to a 5000 mile oil change. At 582 miles driven, I checked the oil and it was 1/2 way on the hash marks- 1/2 qt. low. The “tech” stated the entire hash mark is a 1/2 qt mark and it was a 1/4 qt low, he didn’t add any oil. 7/16/25 at 1013 miles driven I (picture)witnessed the “tech” check the oil at the bottom of the hash marks, he stated it was only 1/2 qt low, took the truck back into the garage area and added an unknown amount of oil. We all know at the bottom of the hash marks the oil is 1 qt low. 7/23/25 at 1448 miles driven I checked the oil, it was 1/3 to 1/2 qt low the “tech” stated it it was a 1/4 qt low. My background in changing oil/servicing vehicles is, 15 years servicing/ maintaining equipment and vehicles for a pipeline contractor. We also all know the full hash marks on any vehicle is 1 qt low. Maybe the “tech” needs training. I’m not trying to get the engine replaced or overhauled if not needed. I realize the next step should be to try heavier oil so I don’t have to add a quart every 1000 miles. Very disappointing. More
