Being a person who doesn't trust many people, I found myself quite trusting of my salesman Josh Ladd. He even confronted me with the trust and allowed me to play run around. After testing two Accords, I decided I like one better and told Josh I would think about it and get back with him. I used the next few days to check other dealerships and compare their prices and cars. What I found were higher prices and dirty cars. Vandergriff's detail persons deserve praise because they too help sell the cars. It was my memeory of how clean the Honda I looked at that made me compare others Hondas to the car at Vandergriff. With the cleaniness and price of the car, I knew I really wanted the car. On Saturday, during evening snow, I received a call from Josh asking if I was ready to buy the car. Having made up my mind to not be quick to buy, I said yes I was ready to buy from Vandergriff. Josh made my visit and purchase smooth. Everytime I yanked my hand back, he kept holding his out asking me to trust him. I am not sure if I trusted him because he was a military man or because he asked me to, but I do know if it wasn't for him, I would not be driving my Accord today. At first things seemed to be going well, I explained to the salesman Tony that I was a return customer and that I had bought 2 Civics from Vandergriff in the past. Tony was nice enough to let me test drive the salesman Tony that I was a return customer and that I had bought 2 Civics from Vandergriff in the past. Tony was nice enough to let me test drive 2 Civics, a DX-VP and an LX. Tony had me come inside so we could try and work a deal on the Civic LX. That’s when it started to go bad. They had me in the showroom for over an hour trying to run their high interest rate scam, they started at 12.9%, I was approved across the street at Mazda for 0%.(I should have stayed at Mazda, I could have purchased a Mazda6 for less than the Civic). After an hour or so I had gotten them to come down to around 7%. Next came the best scammer of them all, the finance manager Chris. Beware of the finance dept. Don't go into the finance dept. if you are as tired and worn-out as I was after shopping for cars all day, that is what they are waiting on. It is much easier for them to scam you into such things as $599 for ZAKTEK paint protection and $196 for a 12 month service contract which I specifically stated that I did "NOT" want when I first sat down in financing. I was so mentally worn down by all their tactics that it wasn’t until the next morning that I realized that they had taken advantage of my trust that I had for their dealership because of previous purchases. The only action they can take to try and earn my business in the future is to do the right thing and cancel the $599 ZAKTEK contract that I would have never signed if I hadn’t been so mentally worn down by all their tactics. The following is taken from a previous review and I agree with what they said. Do not trust this dealership. All the negative reviews are true. Vandergriff Honda is built on running scams. They will deploy the scam tactics after you have put hours of your time in hoping you will give in. The rating is 1 because they are liars, you can’t find any car on the lot that does not have $2000.00 of useless and worthless add-ons, and one scam attempt will be followed by another. The low price quote will be followed by a scam. You have been warned. If you like being lied to, scammed, and worthless dealer add-ons, then you will love Vandergriff Honda More

I thought Tony our salesman was the best car dealer we have ever dealt with, he was fair, upfront and and actually honest for a car dealer, he has done everything he said he would from the get go and we w have ever dealt with, he was fair, upfront and and actually honest for a car dealer, he has done everything he said he would from the get go and we will be a repeat customer of his. The process took a little longer than I had hoped (no one persons fault...I'm just a little impatient), but overall everyone was really nice and willing to work with my budget. I would most definitely recommend this dealership, and salesman, to anyone I know, and this is why. I had been looking into buying a car for a few weeks & stumbled upon a used Accord online. I sent an email asking for information and within a day I had a response from Elliott. Obviously, I had looked into other vehicles at different dealerships but this salesman was the only one that didn't seem pushy (I didn't have 6 emails in my inbox from him).
