John- I appreciate your note. My '02 Odyssey lost its transmission last week. We have four cars and five drivers...when we lose one car, that makes transportation for all of us difficult. Therefore, we are really working with a short time line here. I have spoken with Brandon, who really did his best after Justin dumped us on him last night, about the specific car(s) that we are looking for. I don't believe you have them in stock and we are currently working with other dealers who do. Normally, we would not be in a hurry to buy, but we are this time. I do not feel like Justin followed up well. I called him on Monday & had him check on the '11 Honda EX that I found online that we were interested in. It had the interior color that we were looking for, or we would not have driven over 30 miles on Tuesday (after calling him again Tuesday afternoon to confirm) to potentially buy it. When we arrived (an hour late, in your company's defense...my husband's flight was delayed), Justin handed us over to Brandon who then had to tell us that car was no longer available. Someone should have contacted us...I am always available by cell. Additionally, only one car listed online was actually in your facility. I always call before I go to dealerships to make sure that the cars are in stock. If I hadn't called, this would not have been an issue to me, as I understand cars move fast. We were told that your online database is usually not updated until financing is complete, which is often a few weeks after the sale? If this is true, I would suggest that you have a programmer change your database to reflect cars that are being held, or have been delivered and are no longer for sale...even if they're not sold officially. I am certain that your sales people were trained to take down contact information, including the model & stock numbers of the cars potential buyers are interested in. Then they could call these buyers if the potential car is sold. That didn't happen for us. Excuses should not be made in this situation. We were told, "Well, so many people SAY they're coming and then they never show up." I believe that is part of the automotive sales business. If you want to keep customers, you plan for them to show up. If they don't, that's part of your job. If you don't plan for them to show up, and they do, as we did...you're going to lose a customer. A direct apology would have been better. We would have appreciated, "I/Justin should have called you as soon as the other car was being looked at. I am so sorry that didn't happen!"
