The sales tactics from the beginning were definitely not ideal. However, I did like the car (2008 Civic LX, 50k miles) that they offered. So completed all of the paperwork and even went online at the dealership to purchase insurance thinking I would be driving off of the lot after spending 5 hours and putting my money down and signing everything. However, this was not the case, the car "had to get serviced" before I took it home. 3 days later I was informed the car didnt even pass inspection. Why they would even offer it is beyond me. They then told me I was lucky because they would sell me a 2010 Civic with 30k miles for the same price, since it was their mistake. This was obviously nonsense, they lied and the payments were more then I wanted. I then was shown another 2008 EX standard with 47k. The car was going to be serviced and detailed so I would return later to pick up the car. When I returned for my 3rd day I was on a test drive when I noticed a service light( later to find out it was a low tire pressure icon). Then when I reached 40 mph I noticed an odd noise coming from the rear axle. The noise increased with speed. I informed them, and the service guys informed me it was probably the bearings. The sales guy (Bok Chung) insisted thats just a Honda and I didn't realize it seeing as I've never owned a Honda. I am not a mechanic but I know that something was wrong. The car obviously never met any service requirements or inspections. And they wanted me to start from scratch for the 4th time and pick out a fourth car. Then the Used Car Sales Manager (Shaq) had words. I informed him of the horrible experience I went through the past few days. He then reminded that I do have their loaner, as if I didnt have the right to complain. I reminded him that they also Have my $2000 that I put down and I would be more then happy to get my money back and walk home if this was the service I had to deal with. They then informed me the car just had an air bubble in th hose or something along those lines, and it was ready for me. I think not. I can say that Kyler (financing) was helpful. But since they sell cars that havent passed inspections I was not going to go through. The worst experience dealing with a dealership. More

I have dealt with James Gray in Service several times and he is always friendly, helpful and takes time to answer any questions I may have. I have been using Vandergriff Honda Service for 5 years with my 2006 Odyssey and now my recently purchased 2011. I have to say I have always been pleased with the service department personnel but James is outstanding. We were searching for an Odyssey online and found several listed at this dealership. As we were searching on their website, Jessica sent me what I now know was an automated e-mail with several Odysseys list listed at this dealership. I called the dealership and spoke with Justin, who checked on a specific Odyssey for me. It was exactly what we wanted. He took my contact information and I told him that I would come out in two days. He told me that he would call if anything changed. My husband was out of town. Instead of waiting two days, I picked my husband up at the airport the next day and we drove straight to the dealership, which was 30 miles from our home. I called Justin first, to see if that was OK. He assured me that it was. After we fought through traffic to get there, we met Justin, who immediately passed us off to another salesperson and left the dealership. After he left, we were informed that the car that I had called about had been sold already. No one called us to tell us this, even though they had my cell number. In fact, of the three cars that we were going to look at (one new and two used), only one was there. It was in poor condition, which is probably why it was still there! So we made a very long drive for no reason at all. CALL BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP... They made excuses. They said that many people call and never show. That is no reason for not calling someone who is interested in a car when it sells to someone else. Perhaps they were hoping that we would settle for an inferior car? More
Alan was very helpful. He knew his product and impressed us as being a customer advocate, responding to our concerns and wishes. We didn't think we would have been able to get a good deal but the business manager and sales rep worked hard for us and got us what we asked for. I came in about a two weeks ago and purchased my very first Honda Accord EX-L. My family has always driven Toyota's and Honda's so it was a no brainier that my purchase would be one of the two. Very nice and polite guy. He wasn't pushy or hovering all over us our whole time there. He actually introduced himself and let us go about looking at all their inventory. He is so knowledgeable about all the HONDA'S on the LOT. After choosing the car we liked, I thought that we would have to play the go back and forth price game with the Managers. But it was nothing like that. Yuni one of the sales manager was so helpful. He laid down the pricing and payments for us. We basically told him what our monthly payments needed to be and He was able to get it right on the money. He told us what we should do and what is our biggest bang for the bucks. Yesterday I took my parents back to this dealership and now they are proud new owners of a 2011 Honda Accord LX. If you want a place that is not pushy and will give the best deal I would TRULY recommend VANDEGRIFF HONDA. I will probably be back this xmas to take advantage of their end of the year clearance since the hail storm last week nearly damaged my car. THANK YOU VANDERGRIFF!!! WILL BE DOING ALL MY BUSINESS WITH YOU IN THE FUTURE. More
