I know a dealer is always going to cost a little more than an independent mec Trustworthy. I bought this ranger at Bob Utter Ford 19 years ago. I know a dealer is always going to cost a little more than an independent mechanic, and I can't always afford to go to the dealer, but when it's a big or possibly complicated repair, and I need to know without question that it will be done right, who knows my truck better than the people trained by the company that built the thing? (I don't say that about all dealers). On one occasion, many years ago, when Utter missed one small thing, and the problem recurred, they volunteered that information to me!!! Then, they re-did the repair, (parts and labor), free of charge, and went out of their way to save me money on the additional part that was missed the first time (a very slightly bent driveshaft). There was no labor charge for that, either, and they actually let me get a replacement driveshaft at a junkyard (without warranty on that part of course), to save me money and time! Another time, years after that, there was going to be a long back order time on a water pump, and they allowed (even suggested), that I go to a parts house and bring one to them! Saved me time and money. Trust and respect go a long way. Bob Utter has both from me. More
