AJ Varrichione, Internet Sales Manager - Responsiveness in replying to my online request for details on a specific vehicle - Sensitivity to my timing, schedule/availability - Approach/style. Made me feel that my business was wanted without employing extreme sales tactics (neiter highly agressive or overly aloof) - Subject-matter expertise. My wife and I recently shopped the Volvo XC90 at both Charlotte area Volvo dealerships. While University Volvo did not have the exact car that we were looking for, AJ Varrichione and Jeff Goodman worked Charlotte area Volvo dealerships. While University Volvo did not have the exact car that we were looking for, AJ Varrichione and Jeff Goodman worked tirelessly to meet our needs. Over the course of two days they put five different scenarios in front of us that included thoughtful alternatives by which they could find us the car we wanted or something comparable at a very competitive price. Unfortunately, due to timing, we could not wait to see one of these scenarios through. However, based on my experience at both dealerships I would rank University Volvo #1 in customer service, quality/thoughtfulness of work, friendliness, price and overall experience. If they have the car you are looking for you will receive a superior deal and best-in-class service along the way. If they don't have the specifications you are looking for they will work tirelessly to go find it. As I told AJ and Jeff, if they had the exact car I was looking for on the lot I would have been willing to pay more at University Volvo, just to do the deal with them. More
Came to test drive a used xc60 and ended up buying it. The car sold itself, but the service helped make me comfortable closing the deal the same day. We received a welcome loyalty discount for the new cars as well as excellent trade in allowances on our older cars. As with our previous purchases with University Volvo, AJ & Greg were very helpful, with all of the transactions being handled on-line, with the obvious exceptions of the financing application & final closing. We would recommend University Volvo to all of our family & friends. More
This was by far the best car buying experience I've had. I live out of town and negotiated the entire purchase online prior to going to the dealership. I must admit that I was a little skeptical at first, and concerned that I would drive there and the terms would change but everything worked out just as discussed. AJ was responsive over email and they even gave me an offer on the car I was trading in sight unseen. They were respectful of what I was looking for and didn't try to up-sell me like many other dealers I had contacted online. As I was coming in from out of town just to purchase the car, and wanted a streamlined process, AJ and Greg had everything set up and ready to go in advance. I was in an out in less than two hours. My husband and I recently bought a car from them and the whole process overall was very easy and comfortable. It was VERY low pressure and the whole sale went very smoothly and quickly. We looked at a couple other dealerships and a couple different cars but came back to them. Not only did they sell us on the Volvo company and the car itself but they sold us with University Volvo as an easy place to interact with. I feel very comfortable bringing the car back for regular maintenance and if I have any problems. We mainly worked with Bob but our interaction with the other staff was positive as well. We would definitely recommend Bob to work with and purchasing from University Volvo. More
Horrible customer service! This dealership charged me over $200 to replace a tire pressure montitoring sensor. Within 2 hours, the same message appeared again. When I returned, I was told the remaining over $200 to replace a tire pressure montitoring sensor. Within 2 hours, the same message appeared again. When I returned, I was told the remaining 3 sensors needed to be replaced at a cost of $528! After several phone calls and emails; and the dealership being unable to show that the sensors were faulty; I took my car to another Volvo dealership. They reprogrammed the sensors at a charge of $98! Haven't had a problem since. Throughout this 'mess,' some of my phone calls and emails went unreturned. The service manager hung up the telephone on my husband and they have never admitted any wrongdoing. Very sad that they treat customers this way. More
Cant say enough about the great people at University Volvo or about Volvo in general. As the saying goes Volvo for life!! We had some problems with our 2011 C 70 that were real hard to identify and fix. After several attempts to find a solution University Volvo and the Volvo Corp. stepped up to the plate and gave us a more than reasonable offer on a replacement vehicle. We do not view the problems we had as a reflection on the quality of Volvo but rather just a one in a million problem with no quick solution. This was our second Volvo and certainly will not be our last. I highly recommend Volvo as a company that makes wonderful cars and University Volvo in Charlotte . A.J. was great from inital call thru close of the deal. Price was best out of 3 states on top of finding me the only 2013 xc90 r design i wanted on the east coast.
