I want to give the following individuals a big Thank You for helping me get my new Rav4 Hybrid: John Martinez, Andrew Fest, & Benjamin Wyat. John & Andrew are two of the nicest, most professional, most for helping me get my new Rav4 Hybrid: John Martinez, Andrew Fest, & Benjamin Wyat. John & Andrew are two of the nicest, most professional, most knowledgeable about these Toyota vehicles, and who listened to my vehicle needs and concerns. I went in for maintenance on my 2017 Rav4, but with the assist from Andrew and John I drove home in a pretty new 2024 Hybrid Rav4! Andrew very helpful with negotiating price I can afford and for explaining how to set up phone with car, and both explaining ins & outs of the Hybrid system. I sure I will be asking more questions. Benjamin Wayt very professional and courteous helping to get the paperwork done. Thank You. My husband & I have been shopping with Universal Toyota for at least 25+ years and have always had wonderful service here, whether Service, Sales or Parts. Thank You! More

I took my vehicle in for the hatchback making noises in August of 2024. The part had to be ordered so we had to go back a few weeks later for it to be installed. It was fixed, or so we thought. I took it in today for my inspection and they found that there is a gap between my hatchback and the frame. Right side only, and when I advised them that this company was the ONLY one who had access to my vehicle they refused to take responsibility. The service manager let me know that the damage done is not their responsibility, they don’t know what caused it, nor do I, however, my vehicle went two times for the hatchback and now the damage done is so bad it has to be welded back on the hinge, this seems like damage from heavy:strong machinery. After the service manager argued with me and stated she would refuse responsibility, we left. I filed a BBB report, and within an hour or so I received a call from the service manager letting us know she would take pictures and send it to someone in warranty or something. Well by the time we got back to Toyota (because we had left our vehicle in their parking lot to run errands), for her to take pictures, my BBB complaint had reached her desk. She made a comment stating she wasn’t doing this because I filed a BBB complaint and she had just received the notification moments before we arrived. Her demeanor had changed, and she told my husband and myself that she wasn’t going to do as Toyota advised but she wasn’t going to go out of her way any longer since I had filed the BBB complaint. To me, this is horrible customer service and I feel that it shouldn’t matter if I contacted the BBB or not, my vehicle should be taken care of, regardless. I tried getting assistance through her when we were in the service bay, she stated she was the manager and wasn’t taking responsibility for the damage. She refused to escalate the situation further, so I took the next steps. I purchased both of my vehicles that I have no from Universal Toyota, plus many others, we always take our vehicles to this location for servicing as well, and I have been a customer since 2011. I really thought I’d get better treatment form them. Not to mention the last time I left a review I was highly upset because our Tav4 engine lights kept coming on but all the technicians always stated it was just an oil change needed, even when it was way before one was due, we paid for several unnecessary oil changes because they kept brushing off the bigger issue. They stated they’d reimburse for the excess oil changes, however, they never did (which i was tired of fighting for so I gave up, but with this today and how the service manager spoke to us, it is not ok). Needless to say we won’t be purchasing future vehicles from Universal Toyota, no matter how much closer they are to my home, customer service is important and they do not have it. Also, I just want to add that the tire we have in the back of our car sits in the same spot, but the service manager stated that maybe the spare tire got caught in between the hatch and caused the METAL to break. Be very precise in your language to these people. My wife bought a RAV4 but before she bought it, she asked if it had MAPS and of course the salesman said yes. She and I both were under the impression that it comes with the Drive Connect trial, which is what she wanted. But NOPE the salesman was talking Android Auto which is not what she wanted because the maps are not accurate and up to date like the Drive Connect is. She actually has to plug her phone in to get Android Auto to work and they argued with us that no you don't it will do it wireless, until I proved it to them. She even has to plug in her phone to talk through the car as long as Android Auto is running. She is not satisfied at all. We tried to order Go Anywhere service from Toyota Connected Services, but it will not work either, because the vehicle came with remote connect but not drive connect. The Go Anywhere package has both drive connect and remote connect, but it will not let her activate drive connect until a year down the road when the remote connect trial that came with the vehicle expires, and the Toyota Connected services can do nothing about it after we spent 2 days in a row and over several hours on the phone with them trying to get drive connect to work. Apparently, buying the Go Anywhere service, will not override any trial services, and they can not expire or delete the remote connect trial by itself and they can not even get a 1 yr. trial of drive connect to work because it was not in the package that came with the vehicle, but it can be added later after the trial. This is total BULL xxxx, after 40 yrs. in the IT Industry as a Certified Professional, this is the first time I have heard of a situation where a computer can not be told what to do. After several years of doing business with them, it seems they have slowly gotten worse. We are not happy, and after years of going to Universal Toyota, I believe this is the last time we will EVER DO BUSINESS with them! The Salesman is a nice Salesman but apparently did not understand that when the wife asked about MAPS she meant Drive Connect and not ANDROID or APPLE Auto! The care she traded in a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross had Drive Connect added to it with no issues, but I believe it was only after her trial remote connect ran out. TOYOTA in general needs to do something about their connected services, they need a standard package for every vehicle, and then let the customer decide on which ones they want to keep active after the trial expires. Not this you get what we gave you and you can't order any other services until what we gave you expires. That is xxxx POOR PLANNING on their part! More

Went in for an unscheduled oil changed took 30+ minutes than originally qoted. That service dept gets 3.5 stars. However, Customer service Delivery Specialist Amariah Lewis, made the wait bareable.
