Mixed Experience On Saturday (2/21/15) I stopped in at Twin City Subaru to see a used 2011 Mazda 2. It was snowing out and the vehicle body was hard to see. I tried On Saturday (2/21/15) I stopped in at Twin City Subaru to see a used 2011 Mazda 2. It was snowing out and the vehicle body was hard to see. I tried with my cellphone flashlight to take a good look at it, and it all seemed ok. Jim Glassford and I came to an agreement on the price, and I left with the car. Sunday, when the sun came up, it became obvious that the car had rust issues under the paint of the roof and hood. When Twin City Subaru reopened on Monday I brought the car back, and they very kindly agreed to cancel the deal due to the hidden condition issues. Jim seemed to be honestly unaware of the rust, and was very helpful in facilitating the return. Because they were kind to me, when I decided to buy a new Subaru Impreza instead of a used vehicle, I called Jim first. I knew that they did not have the car I wanted on their lot, but I figured they might be able to do a dealer trade for it. I had even located the car I wanted only 30 miles away at Saint J Subaru and I told Jim that I would buy it from Twin City Subaru if he could get it for me. Jim asked me for a credit card deposit of $1,000 to try and obtain the vehicle for me. He told me that the deposit was to show that I was serious, and that if we did not come to terms it would be refunded. I gave him the requested deposit under these conditions. Later in the day (2/27/15) Jim called me back and told me that the car I wanted was not available because it had been sold, but that they had located and secured a similar vehicle. I agreed to come into Twin City Subaru on Saturday morning, and planned to purchase the similar vehicle if it all checked out. On Saturday morning, before driving to Twin City Subaru, I decided to check on the status of the car I really wanted. Saint J Subaru told me that the car was still available, and that I could buy it that morning if I wanted to. Realizing Twin City Subaru had misrepresented the availability of the car I wanted, I canceled the deal with Twin City Subaru and bought the car from Saint J Subaru instead. After sending an email message to Jim, and explaining to him why I was not going to buy the alternate vehicle from Twin City Subaru, I received the following email message from Sales Manager Chris Davis, "Mr Garland-We will not be refunding your full deposit, this is the second time you have back out of a purchase, we have located and then swapped in a vehicle for you, we have cleaned two vehicles for you. We will refund half of your deposit. Chris Davis" I went back and forth over email with Twin City Subaru for the rest of the day. They were arguing with me about returning my deposit. I reminded them that I also had incurred costs in trying to buy a car from them and suggested that they just refund my deposit and we part as friends. Finally, on 3/5/15 the full deposit refund appeared on my credit card statement. So, they were kind to me in allowing me to return a used car, but should have just told me that Saint J Subaru would not dealer trade them for the car I wanted. More

Joe immediately called and touched base with me after noticing my inquiry. What impressed both my husband and myself was the youtube video. It was a nice personal touch. You could tell that it was cold and that he made it personal in knowing that I wanted a green subaru. Even though they did not have the color I wanted in stock, one was found for me. When signing the paperwork, we got the price and warranty we wanted at a price we could afford. Thanks again for all your help. I just love the green. I told him there what the payment had to be for me to say yes, and he told me it was going to be hard, but after all of his hard work he did managed to get me under the maximum payment that I needed. I also traded it an older vehicle and he made the whole process seamless. I would tell anyone to go to this dealership and specifically to work with Tony Fletcher! More
