Your quick response in this matter is admirable, Mr. Friedman. However, it is far too late to salvage any business relationship between myself and your dealership. The first sign of trouble began when I came to the dealership in January and noticed all the fluff in the pricing. Loved the car and the salesman was really nice. Showed my wife and I around and even bought us lunch. After waiting almost 2 hours to wrap the deal up, I noticed the discrepancies and asked my salesman about it. Poor guy, whom a manager claimed only had a few months experience, told me about value package and everything. I did not see a legitimate reason for the $1600 markup in addition to an already higher selling price than other Toyota dealerships. At that point I left. We already knew prices were more competitive elsewhere and we were considering other brands anyway. When the salesman called me a couple weeks ago, I was hesitant to come back. But he claimed he could work on the price and since he was nice and we were still looking for a car, I told him I'd consider coming back. I called him Friday morning and he said he no longer worked at the dealership. After prodding this kid he finally told me he wasn't doing well enough so he was let go. Seriously?! With a $1600 dealer fee and a higher selling price than other dealerships, employees are being penalized for the public not wanting to be raped by the dealer? That's absolutely disgraceful and was the deciding factor in our purchase from Toyota Hollywood. The business practices I've witnessed are atrocious to say the least. And although every dealership has their tactics, never have I seen them as boldly displayed. Mr. Friedman, this letter was not written with the intention of receiving perks or freebies from your establishment as i can assure you, I will never return or refer anyone. This is simply to outline issues within your business that as 'principal' you should not only be aware of, but address.

I appreciate you took the time to provide feedback concerning how the sale was handled. I know you wrote out of frustration and dissappointment and were not looking for freebies as a result. The fees which you referred to represent profit and costs associated with the sale. These fees vary from dealer to dealer. We have sold hundreds if not thousands of cars over the years to customers who were quoted much higher prices at other dealerships including Toyota of Hollywood. Sometimes we win on price and sometimes we don't. We also have a great reputation as you can see by our many positive reviews. With that being said, I'm sorry for the way how things transpired. If you hadn't already I bought a car I would have done whatever it would have taken to earn your business. I also hope that you would consider servicing your vehicle at our dealership. I think you will find our facility and service experience superior to any other Toyota store. As I mentioned previously, I will also pick up your vehcile and have it delivered to you when it's ready. If you are not willing to consider giving our Service a chance I also can understand and wish you great success with your vehicle. Either way - if you are ever in the area you can always bring your vehicle by for a free car wash and vacuum as often as you like. Sorry again - Eric.
