My credit was far from perfect but they worked hard to get me a good deal and put me in a vehicle that I'd wanted for a long time. Because of my financial and credit situation, the process took a little more time than usual, but that wasn't the dealership's fault. I purchased the vehicle a little over a year ago and am still loving the car. The dealership worked hard for me and went above and beyond what other dealerships would do. I realize all dealerships are trying to make a profit and get a sale, but Robert was amazing to work with and genuinely cared about getting me into the car that I wanted. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but my experience here was well worth my taking the time to write this review. If you're looking for a good used (or new) car and are worried about credit issues or financing problems, give this dealership a chance. They might surprise you. More

Ed B the service rep is not one you shuld deal with as he does not respond to calls and messages you leave for days or weeks. He cannot explain what work is being done and what the charges are for. Some things I was charged for were not even valid but had to pay to get my Prius out of there. Even talking to supervisor Tim\Tom about the lack of ED's response does not help as all he says is he was sorry. I had my Prius there for more than 3 months because of Ed's behavior. More
I bought a new 2010 Toyota Tundra from them around May *Update* On top of everything below I found out at the gas station and later at another body shop that they broke the vent pipe to my Tundra from the *Update* On top of everything below I found out at the gas station and later at another body shop that they broke the vent pipe to my Tundra from the gas tank it caused gas to pour out from underneath my truck when filling up at the gas station. The vent pipe only comes attached to a new gas tank so now I have to replace my whole gas tank. I was there today along with the Jackson Police Department because while they had my truck someone stole the tonneau cover off of it, even though the service manager, Tony, does not want to admit it ever being on there. I purchased the truck new from Herrin-Gear and had them put the cover on the truck before I even picked it up so it had one. He of course stated to my wife "How do I know you didn't take it off before sending your truck up here.", basically calling her a liar and a thief, great customer service. And happily pointed to his sign several times that states "Not responsible for items left in the vehicle." I think your company is taking that way too far in including items that are on and attached to the vehicle. Now that is my complaint Tony needs better customer service and your company should admit responsibility when things come up missing under their care. More
I purchased a car From Tim last week. I had called several places and he was the most direct. He gave me all the information I needed to make a decision. I was at the dealership for just over an hour instead of spending half of my day off to purchase a car. I will recommend Herrin Gear to everyone. More
I recently purchased a 2012 RAV4 from this dealer, and felt good about the deal. It's been a few months and its time to purchase a new truck as well. I was quoted a price, accepted the price, and was to buy the truck. However, I received a text later that said the truck cannot be sold for that price and I would have to pay an additional $1000 dollars. Or I could have them remove some of the options and get it for the original price quoted. BAIT AND SWITCH. Eric the sales manager said the person made a mistake, he could not sell it for that price. I understand someone made a mistake, however as a representative of the company they gave me their word. They should stick to their word. As a result I am purchasing from another dealer and I will never again do business with them. Based upon their ratings online it appears a lot of people have had problems with them. I dont want to pay a higher price but I will, because if you are dishonest with me about this, I cant trust you to stand by your word on anything else. More
My AC started acting up and making a high-pitched sound, so I decided to give these people my business since it's an actual Toyota dealership and locally based. The positives are few and far between, but I so I decided to give these people my business since it's an actual Toyota dealership and locally based. The positives are few and far between, but I will give their sales staff and people up front the benefit of the doubt because they made sure I was waited on, even though they never actually helped me resolve anything. However, I made the unfortunate mistake of walking through the repair center to find Jerry and happened into a short stature,brown-headed, and balded staff member back in repair that blew his horn and proceeded to talk to his repair staff about me with a frown on his face in plain sight of other customers. This put me off slightly because I was sitting there in 101 degree heat with no AC, and I'm poring with sweat trying to give these people my business, and the best he can do is act like a child in front of everyone. As a pedestrian walking through the shop, he had no reason to lay on the horn when he was nowhere close to hitting me. I was walking alongside the wall, but he felt it was his place to let it rip in front of everyone. That's fair enough, but moments later I ran into one of the younger mechanics was in the waiting room bragging about how he had messed up a Toyota by leaving out an oil plug and wouldn't ever make that mistake again with a big ole smile on his blue-eyed face. Warning lights should have been glowing in my eyes at this point, but I was determined to dismiss it all to find someone up there that would help me. I just wanted my AC looked at and was told over the phone by Jerry at 3:30pm to come on now and they would at least look at it. So Jerry arrives after being called over the loud-speaker and proceeds to tell me that they cannot look at my car and to either leave it there or bring it back in the morning. This was far different than what I had been told over the phone. So I thanked them in the blazing heat and proceeded to drive home with no immediate assistance. Upon reaching the house, I checked my cabin air filter just behind the glove compartment, and it turns out the filter had come loose in the housing and was making the high-pitched noise. I had the problem resolved at 4:30pm in my own drive way, and was something they could have fixed in less than five minutes by one of their mechanics with no tools required. My AC is blowing icy-cold right now just like the day I bought the '06 Corolla, and it was a cabin air-filter issue - something they saw no reason to even look at. I shudder to think how much I would have paid this dealership for day labor and cost of a new air filter (or worse) while leaving my car with them during a work day. I fixed it alone when they wouldn't help me, and I will never give them the time of day ever again. All you'll receive from Herrin-Gear Toyota is a smile and handshake with incompetent, overpriced customer service. There are far more reputable dealerships to take your vehicle in Jackson if you need maintenance or general repairs, and I almost got caught up in that mess on the hill in North Jackson. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. More

When i took the car home, i found out that the oil was never changed, but yet charged labour for it. Went to Castrol Oil Change place and asked the tech's to drain the oil and it was pitch black. Asked them to change the oil and called the dealer and asked them about it. They claim that the lifts were full and they had sent my car outside to get the oil change but the mechanic forgot. FORGOT? They are going to mess up a 30k car because they forgot. wonder how many other people are getting ripped off like this. Never go there. They charge you a lot for flimsy work and dont do the REQUIRED maintenance work, like checking and applying lubes on the propeller shaft etc... Avoid that place, if you want your vehicle to last longer. Sometimes have to wonder, if they do this on purpose so your vehicle will break down sooner and you will have to buy another new one soon. I bought a CPO vehicle from them summer of 05. Buying experience was fine. Ive had to have several things serviced as well and it went very smoothly. Ive been impresssed.
