We called the dealer at opening time to confirm the availability of a certified Avalon Limited. They said that it was available, so we set up an appointment to go see it after work. We conveyed to the sales rep that we lived 50 miles away so it would take us a while to get there. We drove over an hour, battling bad weather and rush hour traffic, only to be told that the car had sold earlier that day when we finally arrived. Instead, we were presented the opportunity to purchase an absolute base model with none of the features that we were looking for. How lovely. Honestly, watching paint dry would’ve been a better use of my Friday night. Needless to say, we prefer to do business with people that value transparency and their customers’ time. And yet… I feel the need to say it here. More
