Went to diagnose an issue with a knocking noise. They couldn’t give me an answer and wanted to charge ridiculous amount for chassis ears. Took it to my regular mechanic and they got the issue right They couldn’t give me an answer and wanted to charge ridiculous amount for chassis ears. Took it to my regular mechanic and they got the issue right away.. sway bar links are worn. Quick and easy diagnosis that the Toyota dealer should have been able to see. They also suggested replacement of control arms for an alignment issue (can’t get a couple things exactly to spec) that’s been a problem since I bought it from them 1.5 years ago (which also has nothing to do with the knock noise issue I brought it in for). Vehicle has less than 50k miles. Control arms should not need to be replaced. They couldn’t even say that this would fix the alignment issue I’ve been noticing with the steering wheel cocking to the left but still driving straight. It gave the impression they just wanted me to dump a bunch of cash into the car just to “see what happens.” The one nice thing was that they didn’t charge me for the alignment they did there (idk maybe cause they couldn’t get all of it into spec) or the brake inspection (that didn’t need to be done in the first place and not something I asked for). I was there before 8 and I am waiting inside my car for 20min.before Taylor came he apologized accepted but waiting time 3.5 hours. It’s okay waiting but I hope you guys improve better next time.
