I brought my 2017 Shelby GT350 in for a routine inspection of belts and hoses. The vehicle had zero issues when it arrived. Shortly after service, I experienced thick white smoke from under the inspection of belts and hoses. The vehicle had zero issues when it arrived. Shortly after service, I experienced thick white smoke from under the hood and through the vents while driving. The A/C stopped functioning, there was a strong burning/chemical smell, and the compressor clutch was visibly damaged. When I contacted the dealership, they stated they “didn’t see how the two were related” and offered to sell me a new compressor at my expense. I understand that parts can fail. However, the timing immediately after service raises concern, and there was no willingness to investigate further or provide any goodwill support. I was simply told to pay for the repair. For a performance vehicle like a GT350, I expect careful handling and accountability. Unfortunately, I did not receive either. I will be taking my business to a performance-focused shop moving forward. More
