This was my first experience in servicing my Subaru at Tonkin, having recently moved from Spokane, WA. I found the service to be excellent and was especially impressed when the mechanic showed me the dir Tonkin, having recently moved from Spokane, WA. The service I had done was the outright replacement of 'the head unit’... the main computer that controls most everything via the dash. The original blew. As a direct result a great deal of the control of 'the head unit’... the main computer that controls most everything via the dash. The original blew. As a direct result a great deal of the control of things became wonky/ nonfunctional/ off limits/ more of a classic 'can't get there from here.' Couldn’t use the radio or a cell phone through the car. Couldn’t adjust myriad things that are controlled/ adjusted via this unit. Due to an int'l shortage of chips it took months for Suburu to source this more critical part... through United Radio their sole supplier. Tonkin Suburu did all they could to finesse the situation and help things along. But in reality there was nothing to do but remain patient. Finally... through the help of Tonkin Suburu I was able to contact United Radio directly. I made my case. Here’s further proof that the squeeky wheel gets the grease. The part was made available. What a GREAT development to finally have a completely functional vehicle again. Jen, Chris and Scott in parts/ service were all VERY helpful. They specifically... but the dealership as a whole definitely did their level best to fully sort me out. More
