I've purchased many new cars over the last 20 years and have never had SUCH a negative experience with any dealership like I had with the salespeople at TIM SMITH ACURA in Fort Walton Beach Florida. I kn have never had SUCH a negative experience with any dealership like I had with the salespeople at TIM SMITH ACURA in Fort Walton Beach Florida. I knew more about the features of the car I was interested in they they did. They had no idea of their products features and made up answers to pacify my questions. After much research at Acura.com and other Acura dealerships, I found out that the salesman, Julius, who claimed to be salesman of the year for the past 3 years had no idea about the car and gave me false info about it's capabilites and features. Also, I was lied to, bold faced lied to, not "miscommunication" or misunderstanding, simply lied to. I felt really dirty after dealing with these people. They were just sleazy and manipulative. Best advice, go to another Acura dealer or go for another brand. For me, Tim Smith acura was a Total waste of time, effort and they were pure xxxx to deal with... I am a reasonable individual and I expect the dealer to make a more than fair profit, what I don't expect is lying and manipulation and waste of my valuable time. I ended up purchasing the exact vehicle from another Acura dealer a bit farther away for a decent price and easy, fair, clear transaction. More
I first visited Tim Smith Acura in early March 09, and they wouldn't give me enough for my trade in, so I waited until it sold privately. After over 2 months it finally sold and I went right back to the s they wouldn't give me enough for my trade in, so I waited until it sold privately. After over 2 months it finally sold and I went right back to the same salesmen that helped me in March because that is the kind of customer I am. I bought an 08 Acura TL, 1 year used, in May of 09. In July of 09 I had a problem with the TPMS on one of the wheels, shouldn't be a big deal to get it replaced. Wrong. Turns out they never gave me the lug nut lock key so no shop could work on my car. Had to have it towed 200 miles to the nearest dealership who fixed it but told me they could not give me the lug nut key, I had to call my original dealership and salesmen to obtain that key. Sounded odd, but okay, that was the dealership who failed to give it to me, so they are responsible for making it right and getting it for me. I called my original salesmen, Julius, who after a few minutes of his investigation, told me he could not get it for me. I told him that was not an acceptable answer, I have to have that, it should have been in the car when I bought it. He in turn tired to flip it on me, saying I lost it, that the key was in there, etc. I told him, "don't you dare try to flip this on me" and he proceeded to yell back at me and hang up. Some customer service. Blame the customer, yell at the customer, then hang up on the customer, leaving the customer with no help. That incident told me right then and there that he cared about me only up until the point I signed the check for the car. Clearly, after that, who cares. I wasn't disrespectful, I didn't curse, I didn't insult, I told him his response was unacceptable and yes I snapped back after he tried to blame me for it, but who wouldn't? Not the type of people I would have ever spend close to $30K with had I known how they treat customers. A certified used, but practically still brand new, TL and this is how I am treated. I had read a review on this dealer, a single review, saying something to the effect of "not good customer service" and "didn't really care about me as a customer" prior to engaging Tim Smith Acura, and since there was no detail to the review except that, I figured just a mad customer or had one dispute or whatever... until I found myself on the receiving end of their "customer service." Agree with me or don't, but any customer going to Tim Smith Acura should know the possibility that if you don't leave with a perfect car, don't bother going back to them, they probably don't care. If they can't help me out with something so small and insignificant as a lug nut key, what do you think will happen when you go back with a more serious problem?? More
Went in wanting to test drive a 09 TL and the salesman had us sit down and went over prices on how much we would walk out with one. It turns out to be over $5,000 over what we expected. They wouldn't even had us sit down and went over prices on how much we would walk out with one. It turns out to be over $5,000 over what we expected. They wouldn't even let us take a car for a test drive. Not Good! More
