I went to look at the Hyundai's for the great warranty and ratings. The dealership to offered $4’000 for my excellent condition 2011 Chevy Cruze. We took a test drive in the 2018 Hyundai the salesman Fadi went through all the options that were on the car and we decided to buy it. Then they said they made a mistake and could only offer $2,000 for my trade in, when I left they raised it to $3,500 and agreed to $500 off the 10 year warranty. We sat with The salesman Fadi and agreed on the terms then Fadi asked if it was ok to change the car. I thought he meant to another car with the same price and options, not less options for less value as was to my surprise later when I went to buy gas I couldn't open the gas door because it didn't work the same as the car they showed me our options on then it had a gas cap the other car didn't, my wife was trying to figure out the dual climate control again not there. My wife and I were moved to the finance office and we spoke to Mo Alavi. Mo began writing the contract and we told him we wanted the 10 year bumper to bumper warranty and requested the $500 that the sales manager AJ had verbally promised us. He told us it would be $2795 and I asked if we could get the $500 off Mo said that was $900 off the regulator price is $3,900. I told Mo I would pay for it separately, Mo said it would be 0% financing. I insisted I did not want it financed and he pushed it was 0%. I told him no do not finance it put it on. My credit card separately. Only buying a new car average once every 10 years I am not familiar with the contracts. I reviewed the numbers and the looked ok. When we went out to look at the car, now approximately 9:30 pm and dark My wife noticed the first scratch on the car. We all looked at it and after our previous experience with Gosch, (another nightmare in 1998) I quietly said to my wife maybe we should just leave it because it will only get worse. AJ heard and threw up his hands and said ok there is nothing there and walked away. Another salsman stayed and set up the infotainment to our phone and said come back later and they will go over the options further if we needed. When I went home the next day I checked prices on the warranty and palm springs Hyundai offered the same one for $1,800 vs Gosch at $3,900. When I went back to Gosch to cancel my warranty they said ok but I could not get my money back since it was financed even though I insisted they do not finance it. I told them I would be ok with tinted windows instead of the discount on the overpriced warranty. I don't really mind that they switched the car because more options is just more to go wrong, the scratch I told them about, I still believe would be worse if they tried to fix them and the same for the other four scratches my wife found the next morning. The Service manager AJ told me give him a couple days. After two weeks we went back and he told me no and there was nothing in writing about the $500.00. I guess there word is no good. Of course as always, if it's not in writing you don't get it. More
