Our sales rep was very knowledgeable and while negotiating a price, the general manager came out and personally discussed our options. Everyone held their self to a high standard and helped us choose the perfect car for us. We searched multiple dealerships and none of them compared to the drive that theses guys had. We spoke with a young lady named Kim Barnes and she was very helpful in answering out questions and took time to show as about the lot , Even putting her lunch aside to help us. We did not buy that Monday but I told her we would come back . We did do more shopping but came back the next day and spoke with Kim again. I know I am not an easy sale but thumbs up to Kim I give her SIX stars , Classic Chevrolet gets our money. I will tell all my friends to come see her. Buy Back Event offer, using MSRP is a misrepresentatation The “Buy Back Event” invitation, terms and conditions, is a misrepresentation. They do not use the new MSRP as a starting point but instead refer to l The “Buy Back Event” invitation, terms and conditions, is a misrepresentation. They do not use the new MSRP as a starting point but instead refer to local auction wholesale prices, which is not stated in the invitation letter. Even worse, the management at Classic Chevrolet of Kannapolis North Carolina is indifferent to this significant discrepancy. Recently we received an offer from this dealership to buy back our car at the new MSRP, less 45 cents per mile, less any required repairs. I called this dealership to verify the offer and confirm that it was not contingent on a new car purchase. I also confirmed my car’s MSRP and mileage deduction. The manager shared that I was correct in all of my interpretations but that they would need to see the car, that the deal was only good for five days, that they were currently short of clean used cars. I own four cars and the particular car that they wanted to buy is in pristine condition with very, very, low miles. The next day I took time out to go the dealership and was offered some $17,000 less than their published, agreed to MSRP calculation. The sales manager offered that the car was in excellent condition and did not require any updates. I then asked how he could possibly come up with an offer that was so substantially below what had been calculated and agreed to. He asked to read the invitation letter. He then said I would have to take it up with the General Manager, that he, the GM, would probably not be available for another forty-five minutes. The Sales Manager then offered that he could increase the offer if I wanted to trade the car in. I left. I called the GM later that afternoon and asked for an explanation. I think the term “indifference” best describes Mr. Reeves attitude, as he dismissed the personalized letter, with clear MSRP terms and conditions, as merely advertising and acted as though he had no problem with whether it was truthful or not. At that point I could see exactly what I was dealing with. I then called the dealership back and asked for the name and mailing address of the owner, in the hope that maybe the owner did not know what was going on. I was refused that information and instead directed back to the people who had already misled me. Perhaps this dealership is in such financial hardship that it no longer values such business practices as honesty, integrity, or customer courtesy? There are many decent car dealerships in our area; unfortunately, in my opinion, Classic Chevrolet of Kannapolis is no longer one of them. Let the Buyer Beware; these guys will say, publish, almost anything, and worse do not seem the least bit apologetic about it. More
