As a first time car buyer, I was taken advantage of, big time, at Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Baltimore. I drove an hour and a half to the location after speaking with the online sales manager about the time, at Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Baltimore. I drove an hour and a half to the location after speaking with the online sales manager about the specific car I wanted (Jeep Liberty) because the price was right. I was between two colors and was promised that both were on the lot in the exact model I wanted and available for me to look at before I made a decision/purchase (Black and Forest Black, which is dark green). When I got there, I was passed off to some Sales assistant, Matt Lepke, and learned that only Forest Black was actually on the lot. If I wanted Black I was going to have to upgrade and get a more expensive model with all kinds of extra options. I ended up deciding on black and tried to negotiate on price with them (since they basically "bait and switch"-ed me), which they were unwilling to do. This is just the beginning though. Trade in value and interest rate were also discussed over the phone and in person once I arrived, but the numbers in the paperwork did NOT match what we had discussed. We were at the dealership late because of the fiasco with the available colors and I was being rushed to finish everything up. You can't drive the car off the lot without getting insurance first, so I was doing that online while the salesperson, MATT LEPKE, summarized the details (including what my interest rate and trade in price would be) verbally to me and had me sign everything while dealing with my insurance on the computer. He seemed nice, so I trusted that that's what the paperwork reflected too. WRONG. They gave me only 2/3rds of the trade in value they told me they would give me and upped my interest rate by about 2%. I was furious and embarrassed when I found out, and called the manager and tried to get it straightened out and he flat out refused to take my calls after the first one where he rushed off the phone after realizing why I was calling. I know I could have easily avoided this with a little more street smarts, but I think this speaks volumes about the integrity of the employees and management of this dealership. I would strongly recommend staying away from Matt Lepke and this dealership. Buy Jeep, but buy elsewhere. More

Matt was very knowledgeable of their products. He treated me like I was the only customer in there. Best customer service I've seen in a long time. The process was very smooth for my wife and I. The dealership had the exact exterior and interior color that we were looking for. Thompson service department is the worst. I have bought 6 cars from Thompson and may never come back again. I sent my car in there for an alternator. I was told a year ago when I bought the car it had a new battery in it. I talked to the Service manager..I must say he is a joke. I told him everywhere else offers free installation with a battery. I asked him to give me a break..He abruptly answered NO!!!! I told him just do the alternator and the belt. He informed me that he was doing me a favor because normally they would never install an alternator without a working battery..YEA!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! NOT!!! So I asked him for a hot shot to get my car off his lot so I can go to Sam's club and buy a battery.. OR better yet, I will pull on the shoulder of the road and change my battery there. Thanks Thompson's for nothing. Thank you for the high inflated prices you charge in the service department. Your work in often inferior to others. I have waited for the General Manager to call me. The salesperson was wonderful but she doesn't control the rest of them. So over a period of 10 years...I spent over $75,000....I think they should correct this problem..Better to lose $250 then to lose the next $16000 that I was going to spend. I think I will give Jerry's or Jones' dealership a try. Another thing..I bought a jeep there a few months ago too. The first hour I had the car out after signing all the papers..The car died on me on Eastern Ave. Did I holler and scream take the care back..NO...The salesperson made sure it was fixed correctly that time. Incompetent service center. Just one more thing..I was going to buy the Dodge Caravan I need for my daughters wheel chair lift in May 2014...Looks like I am going somewhere else.. More

I am a Service Advisor at a Honda Dealership, so I know what it means to take care of your clients. My brother has bought three (3) vehicles from this dealership and with how particular he is, I knew my ex what it means to take care of your clients. I can tell you as the new owner of a 2010 Jeep Wrangler 4 door that I had everything but a good experience. I had a PERFECT and OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE. I came into the dealership when my brother was trading in his Charger for a Chrysler 300S. I test drove the Dart Turbo and fell in love with it. Kathy McKinney is a STAR at this dealership, Her knowledge, patience and laid back attitude made me feel wanted at the dealership and not just a number or a commission. I felt like a member of the Thompson Family. I decided to hold out for a Dart R/T or GT (whatever they decide to finally call it). Over the months I found a 2009 Mini Cooper S Clubman for a great price and bought it. After having it for a couple of weeks, That car wasn't what I thought it would be NOR wanted. Regardless, I stopped in Monday April 22,2013 at about 8:30pm. Despite the fact they were preparing to close, I received personalized A1 service. I would have thought that they were open until 11:00pm with the way things were going. The next day after looking over the website, I called Mike Brocki (Sales Manager) and informed him of the vehicles I was looking at and what vehicle(s) I would be trading him and he said "let me handle it and I (Mike Brocki) or Kathy McKinney will give you a call shortly. I have heard this before so expected to be shoved aside like dealerships have in the past. A couple hours later, I received a phone call containing AMAZING news. I was asked if I knew which vehicle I wanted or a few so they could be pulled up when I came to visit later that night. I knew the one I wanted and when I arrived the vehicle was outfront, dealer plated and ready to go. The moment that I walked into the showroom, I felt like I was the only customer in the dealership. Everyone said "Hello" or "Good Evening" or "Welcome Back" or some other way of acknowledging my presence. That alone sealed my decision to buy from this dealership. The amount of priority and honesty demonstrated by Kathy McKinney and Mike Brocki is when I knew this was an open and shut sale. I didn't feel ripped off, or got over on. I felt and still feel that the dealership had my best interest at heart, just like my brother did when he recommended this dealership for my next vehicle purchase. This isn't a dealership, This is an establishment built on the values of fairness, honesty, loyalty, dedication and INTEGRITY. A lot of these values are foriegn or lost concepts at other dealerships, including where I have purchased previous vehicles. One vehicle I traded had a great amount of emotional value, and was told "If you don't want to get rid of it, I can work the deal without it." To me, as a customer, that was a highly unexpected statement. I expected a harsh, not caring "Do you want to trade it or not" attitude. NOT AT ALL THE CASE. This dealership went way above and FARRRRRR beyond my expectations. From the impromptu visit, the test drive, to delivery, I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I drove home without my malibu, without my mini and felt like the purchase I made was fantastic. THANKS TO THOMPSON'S CARING OF ME AND NOT JUST MY PURCHASE, I was able to make the right decision for ME and it wasnt based on pressure for the dealership. Once I arrived in the finance office, Derek Absher took FANTASTIC care of me. He explained EVERYTHING is great detail and went over every piece of paperwork so there was no misunderstandings. I asked questions and got honest answers. After asking questions about previous purchases from other dealerships, I found out where other finance departments had mislead or flat out LIED to me. That was disheartening but its a lesson for the future. When the purchase was complete, I received a handshake and a thank you from Mike, Kathy and Derek. Once the plates were on the car, Kathy said "Congratulations" "Thank You" and gave me a minute with my two cars and then she hugged me. This is why this dealership will continue to be successful. PROFESSIONAL......BUT WITH A PERSONALIZED CARING TOUCH. If you are looking to buy a Car, Truck, SUV etc, I highly recommend this dealership/corporation. They care about putting people first, and builting a lasting relationship that will last the test of time. I could have my vehicle serviced where I work, but I will be having the vehicle serviced here 100%. If you like being lied to, taken advantage of and feeling degraded when you purchase a vehicle, feel free to ignore this message and shop elsewhere. BUT, If you want to be told the facts, NOT FICTION, know that someone is being honest, fair and dedicated to make sure your best interest is their #1 Priority, then THIS IS YOUR DEALERSHIP.
