I purchased truck on 11/18/21 and given temporary title through 12/18/21, I did not finance the truck, paid cash at closing. 12/12/22 – My email to dealership as I had not received title or tag with tem through 12/18/21, I did not finance the truck, paid cash at closing. 12/12/22 – My email to dealership as I had not received title or tag with temporary running out in 1 week with no correspondence form dealership, so I emailed the sales person: “I still have not received any information on title/registration for my truck and the temporary runs out this weekend. Your finance manager mentioned this might happen and to just let him know. Can you please follow-up for me? Perhaps you guys can just send another temporary to get through the holidays?” 12/17/22 – I received no response from the sales the person for over a week, so, I forwarded the email above to the finance manager: “I have not heard back from salesman, can you help with this?” 12/19/22 - Received below email response from finance manager: “I reached out to my title team. They are still working on processing the title for the Toyota out. It should be with the Alabama DMV soon. Just remember to keep a copy of the buyers order in your glove box as proof that you purchased the vehicle.” 12/19/22 - My response by email: “Do I not need a new temporary tag since this one has expired?” 12/19/22 - Finance manager response by email: “Unfortunatel, the DMV won’t allow me to issue another 30 day tag.” 1/6 – Still have I had not received title or tag and temporary tag 3 weeks past due, no correspondence from dealership to update. I sent the mail below: “I still have not heard anything, this is getting a little frustrating. Please let me know who I need to contact.” 1/7/23 – Response from finance manager by email: “I’m sorry, I wish I had better updates for you but the only update we get from the Alabama DMV is that its in process. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience and the delay. I wish I could say this was unusual but this is honestly pretty typical for Alabama's DMV.” 1/31/22 - Email from me as I still have I had not received title, temporary tag now over 6 weeks past due, no correspondence from dealership to update me. I went to my DMV and they said they had not received any information from the dealership: “I wanted to follow-up again. I went to the courthouse today and they said they turn around request within1 week, but have no request on file for my truck. They stated it could have been sent to the wrong location as my address is in Madison City, but Limestone County. Who can I speak to about this? I am now over 2 months out from purchase. If I can get the paperwork, I will take it to the courthouse myself.” 1/31/22 - Feedback from finance manager by email “An update from my tag office is there are still problems getting the title cleared from the previous owner’s bank. I'm extremely sorry for the delays but I assure you we are doing everything we can to get this taken care of. We just recently applied for a duplicate title to try and clear this up”. So now the story has completely changed. 2/3/23 – I called the dealership I called the dealership, told the operator my issues and asked to speak to the sales manager. I was connected to the finance manager. He said they were doing everything they could to get my title, and it was an issue at the bank with the previous seller of the used truck I purchased. He agreed to keep me posted. 2/12/23 – No update from the dealership, so filed a complaint with BBB, NC DMV, and NC DOJ consumer complaints devision More
